My early feeling is we look more up for it. Could all change though.

You often get a feeling with curling who has momentum. I feel GB look more controlled and Japan seem chasing the game. Early days but if Eve can get 2+ with this hammer it's a great start.

That’s how the Swedes won this morning.  Good start then never relinquished control

Random question, but why did they ever come up with 38 minutes for the game clock? Was 10 x 4 minutes just too simple?

I think because it's rounded up from 30 minutes for 8 end games which are more normal in amateur level, although rare to have a shot clock. I can count on one hand the number of 10 end games and timed tournaments I've played.

Good stuff for the first half.

One thing Im a bit disappointed by is having watched lots of curling disappointing not to see anyone fall on their arse on the ice. If one of the Japanese ladies could humour me, that would be appreciated.

They would just have a laugh about it.  Love their attitude.

Strange to think that only a couple of months ago both these teams emerged from the olympic qualifying event (Scotland did become European champions a few weeks earlier in December though)

Eve fell on her arse during one of the round robin games.

Yeh they are great to watch even when I have no idea what they are going on about.

As for the alternates, can they only be used to replace an injury or can they be used for tactical reasons?
