Yeah.  He won several Eastern areas in the first round of Presidential voting in 2019.  He was in the Party of the Regions and was a minister in Yanukovych's governments.

Since the invasion, he's been pictured with pro-Ukrainian parliamentarians passing laws to confiscate Russian state property in ukraine.  The leaked FSB memo said that he was completely opposed to the invasion and had broken with the Russians due to it.

Here's a tweet showing him

What sterling work @ICTChrisis doing with these wee nuggets of info and analysis. Very much the Kate Adie of P&B.

It's a joy, in complete and positive contrast to experts elsewhere on this board

Did Ukraine leave that power station hooked up by mistake? That’s like when you go to change a light switch and discover it’s still live.

I'm amazed that you would do that kind of thing tbh.

The reactors were decommissioned in 2000. However dismantling the whole thing is pretty difficult thanks to Reactor 4's state, and there is a lot of spent fuel on site that needs kept cooled - that requires electricity from somewhere to keep the coolant pumps and control systems going.

Four British soldiers are apparently AWOL in Ukraine.

Genuine idiocy from professional soldiers or a cover story ahead of covert forces getting captured?

More likely the former knowing are brave boys

That was very diligent of them. I’d just have stuck some damp seal on it then some caulk around the gaps.

Should've been on the Wordle thread a couple of weeks back.
