Russian invasion of Ukraine

Apparently Putin said on his speech that the West is trying to “cancel Russia”.

looking forward to his next speech where he complains that “they say it in those rap songs but it’s not alright if I say it?”.

It would be interesting to see the context in which that was translated.

There was a BBC interview with Lukashenko last year where he and the interviewer were using the same Russian word but the BBC were translating it differently to make Lukashenko appear more aggressive.

Sleepy Joe being bundled into labelling Putin "a war criminal" by the liberal press and no doubt Clinton-legacy psychos in his administration as well, just as both Ukraine and Russia were beginning to approach negotiations like adults.

Undermining a plausible ceasefire for the sake of moral self-righteousness on Twitter and a +1 bounce in the polls for a fortnight: Talleyrand must be spinning in his grave.

Blair not up in front of the Hague yet?

Not since the Commons in 2001.

(sorry, I know that's a very tired joke at this point)

As soon as the sanctions kicked in, I knew angry divorced dads on the internet would be claiming Russia was being cancelled, but the actual president of the country?

Ooft. He and The Donald really did learn a lot from each other.

NEW: Russia has "inflicted airstrikes" on Belarus in a possible FALSE FLAG operation blamed on Ukraine to draw Putin's ally into the war: Ukrainian internal affairs ministry. Russian assault aircraft bombed Ukrainian targets before launching airstrikes in Belarus, per stmt.

It's worth bearing in mind that he is probably as close to Saudi Arabia and Israel as he is to the USA these days. There is some ominous stuff in there about a defined western response to the African population explosion and the division of the Middle East in friends and enemies. Funnily he mentions that communist China is overtaking the West because it's less bureaucratic.

Translation: More autocratic.

Blair's big bleat back in the day was that as Prime Minister in peacetime due to the various unfortunate checks/balances/competing interests

associated with government in peacetime, he never felt that he was really achieving anything. Whereas, in a nice war, he could really get stuck in

and obliterate a bad guy.

Would they not be better getting a good country to join in?

Read 'Blair's Wars' by John Kampfner and see if you can find any parallels.

Blair was/is a self-serving sanctimonious arsehole who was only too keen to have his legacy written in blood.

I was wondering if it might be the start of an internal coup whilst Lukashenka's potential hauners were occupied elsewhere. TBH, Belarus are probably more objectionable than Russia...in human terms, they'd be the wee fanny that hangs about ingratiating himself with the local nutcase and thinks he's bulletproof as a result.

How do you think the rest of the world views Britain?

Agreed, but again in human terms, the UK is probably more like that annoying old guy at the end of the bar who used to be a bit of a boy way back when who labours under the delusion that people still take him seriously the way they did back in the day.

I don't even consider him to be a person.

He is a fucking ghoul.

More likely to fill his pants than fill you in.
