Russian invasion of Ukraine

Quite a spectacle seeing gangster kleptocrats accusing each other of stealing and turning on each other. World history's been written by a junk fiction thriller writer the last few years.

Getting them to waste their resources fighting in Bakhmut might be a masterstroke though.

Wagner seem to be having better luck at taking towns in Russia than Ukraine.

Ukrainians will fight Wagner group like demons,I doubt Russian squaddies will

All large events in Russia including Kaliningrad, "postponed". This includes graduations.

Road blocks setup around Moscow and other centres.

Apparently a lot of the law enforcement agencies were pissed up on Friday night, so it was a good time to start an insurrection.

From 3 days to kyiv to over night to Moscow.. An interesting change up.

If the recent Moscow military parade is anything to go by, most armoured vehicles are currently deployed in Ukraine, leaving little in the way to slow down this movement.

What remains in Moscow could be enough to repel this group for a short while, would it allow a redeployment of troops to retake / return to help?

Would that spur on a Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Is this a bait and switch tactic from wagner to suggest the above.

Nothing will happen. The Wagner guy will get taken out and his mercenaries will just filter back into the main Russian army...

...but meekly following all Vlad's orders is looking like a one-way ticket to death in a HIMARS attack at this point. Russia's military capabilities are slowly being expended, while Ukraine is steadily receiving better western weaponry with more to follow. Don't think it's safe to assume that Russian military units are going to fanatically follow Vlad given that backdrop.

Wagner clearing Rostov City centre. There are reports that Gerasimov was in the city, but is holed up at a safe-house rather than on a RU MoD base.

Incredible stuff. Surely the Ukranians can pick up some massive momentum here.

Hopefully the arms dealers know that they might be entering the last days of the live demonstration catalogue they have enjoyed and load the next few cargo planes up with the good gear!

This probably only ever ended with Vlad facing trouble at home but by f**k, I don't think anyone predicted a private army moving on Moscow.

How many ultra loyalists can this guy have, certainly not enough to start a civil war.

Maybe just as likely that Putin gets taken out, some of his inner circle might think the writing is on wall and take preemptive action.

I also think you are underestimating how few people you would need to start a coup.
