Lex
With the teams in the top three and bottom two decided, the burning issue for the next few weeks is who is going to make the top six cut out of the mid table glob. Assuming Hibs don't win the Scottish Cup - and perhaps if they do - the teams who finish fourth and fifth will get European football. That's the real carrot here, 80% of the teams in the top six will (probably) be going to Europe next year. Realistically you have six teams going for three spots. Aberdeen have a very slim outside chance, the only way they'll do it is if they win their remaining three games and even then it might not be enough, but they do have a very kind fixture list. The matches: Hibs and Livingston are the obvious favourites for two of the spots, they have the most points for a start and they both have decent fixtures remaining - neither play the Old Firm. After that who knows, Ross County are the form team and they are in the top six at the moment, but they've got a horrible run of games, playing two of the top three and then going to Pittodrie. Neither Well, United or St Mirren are in good form, but surely at least one of those three is going to make it. I'm going to plump for Tam Courts Galaticos to get over the line, they avoid the top three in their remaining fixtures and their final pre split game has the look of a doon derby about it, which surely they're going to win. Therefore I'm going to go for Livi, Hibs and Dundee Utd to take the three remaining top six spots. But it's that close anything could happen, wouldn't be much of a surprise if all three miss out. What's the PNB consensus?
The Other Foot
I think it will be: 4 - Livingston 5 - Motherwell 6 - Hibs Hibs' remaining fixtures are tricky, with Well and Livvy having slightly easier runs. I really feel for County - they've done so well to get to this position, but have a right scunner of a fixture list left to go.
btb
We're bottom of the log-jam on 36/37 points but our next two games are "six pointers" and if we were to win both it would leave us on 42 which I reckon will be enough for sixth place - in the gutter but looking at the stars!
welldaft
I kinda agree with you in terms of who will make the top 6. However I disagree with your notion that Hibs have an easy set of fixtures. Aberdeen, Dundee United and Hearts ? We have St Johnstone, St Mirren and Livingston. The facts are Motherwell had the easiest set of fixtures with 5 to go. But we are guff and even when we seemingly do alright we implode or a referee makes a crucial decision against us or both. I think 42 points will be enough for top 6 possibly 41. It means we need to 2 wins from next 3 games or a win and 2 draws. Not sure we are capable of that at the moment. We are due a break and we are due to score 1st in a game since we have somehow not managed that in 13 games this year . Big game in Perth on Saturday for both sides. I will not be there but I fully expect to see St Johnstone 1 Motherwell 0 on Soccer Saturday at any point in the 1st half. Twas ever thus...

However St J are fighting for their lives, St M and Livi are desperate for top 6, and Well are on a shocking run of games right now. You think it "has" to end, but I wouldnt be too keen that the Fermers were the first test. Presumably you will be without Mugabi as well for that one?

big al
Aberdeen to have strong finish to the season, and sneak up to 8th.
Ron Aldo
We won't be making top 6. Hibs, Livi and County will get the final 3 spots.

Phillips455
You Can effectively rule out Motherwell and Aberdeen. If either team makes it then every other team must have a nightmare in the last 3 games as well. Onwards to Perth on Saturday. Can't wait to watch another away defeat.
Al B
I share other 'Well fans' pessimism, but let's be honest the most on-brand Motherwell outcome here is to manage Top 6 and then be the only team in it that doesn't get a European spot, with five post-split drubbings from the teams above as a sweetner.

Comrie
I think we might get two draws from the games we have: vs Celtic (L) vs Hearts (D) vs Aberdeen (D) Most of the teams around us have slightly easier fixtures, but if you'd offered me 8th place at the split after our first ten games, I'd have bitten your hand off. This is obviously what will actually happen if we do make it but part of me reckons we're due something ridiculously spawny and mental happening. SOD final day screamer to clinch Europe, him and Alexander both sent off for telling our fans to f**k off in celebration.
flyingscot
I can't see us making top 6. Think the result in Dingwall probably cost us the chance.
Handsome_Devil
We're surely onto last chance saloon with our hopes on Saturday. Or maybe it's the last chance to get to the last chance saloon as we could still easily blow it even if we win. I agree on Hibs and Livingston, last one you're picking out a hat right now. You could borrow the Alexander tombola machine.
