....and finally [official] notification that Liam Craig has departed.  Obviously today is official data-dump day; QP info stream like buses, nothing for weeks then they all come at once.

Well what can you tell us 🤔........... he fits the McCabe mould but can he play???

First watched him funnily enough against Airdrie away in L1 when you pumped us 2-0; thought that day he was the one positive from that game.  There's a decent footballer in there but as others have said he still appears a little light for the Championship....no doubt McCabe will turn him into the next Andy Robertson and sell him on in two years time for a fair sum.

All the best to Bruce. He’s a talented player and still incredibly young but I just never quite got the hype about him. He was never great defensively and was never that amazing going forward either. Can’t say I ever had much confidence in him after the absolute roasting he had at firhill last season. He was never going to replace Scott, so I don’t blame him at all for heading elsewhere, especially to a team who are very good with developing young players

Just need to hear about Mckinstry from last season’s team now ?

Not surprising that Bruce has chosen to move on. He clearly needs to start playing regular football although i am not sure he will find that at another Championship club at this stage. A token compensation fee from Airdrie up front with QP getting a percentage of any future sale seems like the most sensible deal we could have negotiated in the circumstances. His departure creates another space in our squad to be filled and i really hope we have 3 or 4 signings lined up as starting preseason with a weaker squad than last season isn't ideal.

Club announcement read as though they were scunnered about it. Perhaps he'd been offered quite a generous contract/had provisionally agreed to sign one? Doesn't really matter I suppose. The fact that we offered him a contract (with presumably equal or improved wages) means we're owed compensation I believe, so there's some positives here.

In terms of replacements, I imagine there'll be another 16-year-old waiting in the wings, but if not, who covers if Scott is injured if Bruce and Robson are out? Both wing back positions looking very shaky atm

Glen Johnson to leave the club...

I can't see this as good news, obviously the guy has family reasons which is fair enough but for us he's been brilliant, can't imagine we'd have the best goalie in the league and have had a goalie with such a price tag if not for him. I wonder if we'll get an adequate replacement

Also, with him and nujiten leaving, you wonder how much continuity there is in the coaching staff for us. Are we going to wind up with a completely different staff from what we had this time last year?

This post gets even worse now Liam Craig's gone btw

You are basing your ST purchase on the strength of summer signings.

Are the rumours true that you guys are looking at former player Lee Connelly?

Barely heard a single rumour about any incomings so not a clue

Seemed to be a bit of hype surrounding him a couple years back but haven’t heard much of him in recent times

When did Queens Park sign McGinley from us and were you offering him higher wages than we could afford?

I'd never actually heard of the boy until these rumours about him going down south. Not sure he'll even be on a professional contract though, as the club tends to announce those loudly.

How long a deal does McKinstry have with you guys?

Out of contract currently and the only remaining player from last season’s team to make a decision on his future

He’s been offered a new deal which is supposedly 2 years
