Dave Bowman is on the staff at Dundee United but not sure if he’s actually assistant manager or not. His peak was a wee bit before my time though.
Rob1885
Dave Mackay was a decent player, captained St Johnstone team that won Scottish Cup in 2014 I'm sure
Mike the Magyar
Two of the best managers in the English Premiership were average at best, ( Ferguson and Wenger)

Vacant You could make a pretty decent team from the managers in the Championship (when they were in their prime). Who would be the keeper? Hoping Tommy Wright fills the vacant position?

I'm not sure, I've always had him as a league one midfielder tbh. On 17/12/2023 at 12:54, Reid said: James McPake above Doolan is a wild shout. Would have Doolan above him and McIntyre. The only issue I'd have with that list is that Doolan is too high tbh, let's be brutally honest here, if he was better he'd have had a move to a bigger side through his career. Good player, great servant for Partick, but he's only above McCabe imo.

He had opportunities to move to bigger clubs in Scottish Premiership, but was happy at Thistle.
oneteaminglasgow
Kris Doolan is the fifth-highest non-OF goal scorer in the Scottish Premiership since football was invented in 2013. Comparing silly nonsense like James McPake to him is ridiculous.

Richey Edwards
Dick Campbell could still do a job as a player at this level IMO.

D'Jaffo
Imrie and McCabe can fight it out for tenth. McCabe probably could’ve had a decent career if it wasn’t for injuries. I’m amazed he’s actually still playing regularly for Airdrie given he wasn’t that great at QoS a few years back. Doolan was one of those strikers where if he’d played for one of the big clubs in Scotland he’d have scored double the amount of goals he did. Far better player than Imrie for me.

Ended up contributing to Caldwell being sacked and the job opening up for him.

I’ll take the guy who scored double figures worth of goals 8 seasons in a row (5 of them while Thistle were in the top flight).
