Boo Khaki
https://nflcommunications.com/Documents/01 05 23 - Buffalo-Cincinnati.pdf What an absolute dog's dinner they've made of this. Just play the fucking game instead of letting it effect every single other AFC playoff team and produce mismatched playoff formats in each Conference.

Well, it actually doesn’t impact anything except the seeding…and that influence will depend upon what happens this weekend. The proposals ain’t ideal, but beat delaying the start of the playoffs a week: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-cancels-bills-bengals-game-plans-vote-friday-to-implement-two-major-modifications-for-afc-playoffs/
Fuctifano
Still needs to be voted through with > 75% votes and Bengals certainly won't vote for it as it stands, but I think most will, the NFC teams won't be affected and think most AFC would rather get on with it. Tbf I think any Bills- Bengals game in the playoffs whether divisional or championship should be neutral site as well (unless Bills win and Bengals lose on Sunday as then the postponed game wouldn't have mattered). Certainly avoids the mess of pushing the playoffs back a week or having teams play 3 times in 7 days.

The NFL are trying really hard to please everyone (in particular fans) at an emotional level, but are making up rules as they go along in doing so. The more information that comes out makes it seem like the decision to not resume play was initiated by the players rather than the NFL. That's not a criticism of either party, but an observation. Buffalo flew home from a suspended game making restarting the game the next day impossible, when the protocol in place is to resume the game ASAP. It may sound harsh, but the actions of the Bills would justify them forfeiting the game IMO.
Brummie Clyde
I suppose the big question that arises from this is, does this mean that I win my Fantasy Team Championship match?
lichtie23
So the Bengals are now AFC North champions
pozbaird
Only thing guaranteed was that no matter what the NFL did, it would affect somebody, would annoy somebody, and they’d get criticised by somebody. What course of action should they have taken? If seen to force the Bengals v Bills game to a conclusion - they’d get it. If moving everything and someone plays three games in eight days - they’d get it. I just can’t see how they could win.
Brummie Clyde
Personally I'd have just called it a tie, because everyone likes ties
