I don’t agree that that’s our strongest 11, midfield got bullied in that first half. Murdoch for Smith and Mullen or O’Connor on the wing Sorry totally forgot Murdoch wasn’t playing after that result. He’d come in for Smith but I’d stick with Mullen for now.
AyrAtlanta
The two strikers and wide players have got to be the first four names on the team sheet every week. With last weeks starting 11 that game would’ve finished 1-0 Queen’s Park.
HoustonSpider99
This 4-4-2 has at times worked, but against Cove, Raith, Morton and the sounds of it (I couldn't make it), Ayr we've completely surrendered our 2nd balls and we've been so easy to pass through. Performances haven't been great recently: ranging from tolerable v Cove and Raith and clearly unacceptable v Morton and Ayr. I have faith that Coyle can make the change, but there is a lot of work to be done, especially with the realities of the 4-4-2.
Anonymous Spider
Wow. Shat the bed an absolute topper there… Credit to Ayr, took their chances well but were hungry and organised in defence - everything we were lacking. Balance of the team a problem. We look too reliant on individuals to bail us out imo. An extra body in midfield would have helped today - to try and control the game a bit but, more importantly, to protect our bomb scare defence. A positive update on Charlie Fox would be very welcome round about now…
No_Problemo
Musonda and Kirk were class personified today. Dipo of course being the other standout. Chalmers, Smith and Albinson not far behind. Chalmers is a lovely football player. Daire was also a joy to watch at times when he came on. I think Bangala might be woeful unfortunately.

Velvet Donkey
Queens Park are incredibly overrated. I can see why people view them as a decent footballing side but they are so easily bullied and cut open it isn’t even funny. Jordan Houston will struggle to drive home tonight with Dom Thomas stuck in his back pocket. Maybe it's you that is over-rating QP?I'd agree we are a decent footballing side, but our defensive frailties have been evident for a while, and the return of Fox will help, but not enough. I'm now not sure it's fixable by just rotating the personnel we have, but Bannon always looks steady enough to deserve a run.As much as we were very very poor again, it was an impressive display from Ayr. Dipo a great find for this league.
Trogdor
This made me smile... "Dipo Akinyemi scored a hat-trick as Ayr United trashed Queen's Park to move level on points with Scottish Championship leaders Partick Thistle." Edit - It's from the BBC match report. Definitely won't be in danger of starting any time soon. I really didn't think Queen's Park were too bad at all - they kept going and created quite a few chances. The difference was that their defence was quite soft (resembled ours last season) and we for once took our chances. I don't know how much Chalmers is costing us but he is a great signing. Queen's Park will play worse and win.
Ayr23
What a result! I’m 100% certain Young scored the first but we might never know. My ITK Queens Park supporting pal says they are signing Akinyemi in January… No chance!

Ayr23
Just now, Buckfast said: Young never touched it, if he had it would have been offside, I was in line with it. Fair enough! I was behind the net and I was sure he headered it in at the back post. Also Dipo pointed to Young when we was celebrating. Young was superb today, chasing down every ball and causing havoc to their big number 66. Another superb find!
diegomarahenry
A strange game, Queens Park probably had more chances and on another day Albinson might have won man of the match. An early goal helped us settle in to the game and even at 3-0 Queens looked capable of pulling a goal or two back with plenty of time left in the game. Ayr took their chances and after an hour the game was done, both teams had half chances after that. A very good game for a neutral. Akinyemi was a standout today, his 3 goals and overall play was brilliant, Young was slow to get going but came on to a game. Dempsey and Albinson were outstanding. Queens Park has spells where they passed round us and created chances but lacked a cutting edge up front and were dreadful at the back on many ways. They are physical but positioning and decision making, they were very poor on occasions. Bangala was ok, looked like he needs games to get up to speed, escorted players rather than challenged them and game away a couple of clumsy free kicks. Kirk and Musonda look a better pairing at the back, less long balls and look more relaxed. looking forward to seeing Dipos second and Dempsey’s goal on the highlights.

Your friend has been on the booze On a years deal, out of contract in the summer, to sell him to a team in our league just to cash in on him would be a 5 figure fee. He’s on a two year deal, if we are still within 12 points of the top spot then selling him could be the difference between promotion and a play-off place and he would be worth much more to us. Now is the time to offer him a pay rise, a third year and add clauses that protect his interests as well as the clubs. The same goes for Dempsey and Musonda.

Absolutely agree with this re Dipo and Frankie. Dempsey already being on a 3 year deal looking like a great bit of business

Bring Your Own Socks
Ayr fans being very gracious but every single one of our players were below par today, some well below. Haven’t listened to Coyle yet but my best advice to him is find a leader on the park. Maybe it’s his own management style that doesn’t allow strong personalities but after Tuesday night, if this is “bounce back” it’s going to be a long winter. Enjoy your night Honest Men…these kind of days don’t come around often enough. Our poor quality wasn’t the reason for your win. Good players, good attitude, some great individual finishing. Better team all over the park.
