Granny Danger
Now that the local elections are over Wee Rishi is safe. No one in the Tory Party with an eye on the future would want to take over before a GE. And the sort of ambitious nut job who may be willing to do it wouldn’t get support. What will be interesting is Sunak himself, he won’t want to be an opposition MP. Does he stand, win then step down after a few months or does he just decide not to stand. If it’s the latter it will be a gift to all the other parties and he’ll get slaughtered by fellow Conservatives.

I confess that I am wondering who any post-election Tory MPs from Scottish constituencies would support, given that the top 5 potential leaders on Bet365 are... Badenoch, Mordaunt, Braverman, Patel and Cleverly. I'd have thought that out of that lot, Mordaunt would be a shoe-in, but she's in second place behind Badenoch. A United Kingdom right enough. Can't see any of them bringing to an end virtually 70 years of Scotland telling the Tories to eff off at general elections.

Salt n Vinegar
Tory Mark Harper on the Kuenssberg show recreating the persona of the Captain of the Titanic, if the Captain of the Titanic had said " yes, I see the iceberg directly ahead of us, but we haven't hit it yet, so we'll just keep going..." Braverman has attacked Sunak, saying that she regrets backing him.

She is genuinely deluded.
Michael W
It's easier to deflect onto something else than acknowledge that you are the problem and change that. The Tories have been acting like an opposition in crisis for quite some time now and it is only going to get worse when they are finally removed from power. Already the savages are out and vying for ideological (right wing) purity. Unfortunately, the seats the Tories do manage to retain are stuffed full with the likes of Truss, Braverman, Badenoch and a few grey-suited men that look like they are only a few weeks away from dying of old age.

She's trying to put distance between herself and Sunak's policies ahead of the election and subsequent leadership race. Hence why she says she regrets voting for Sunak, as she knows that will get thrown back at her as not being right wing enough. =
