I see Darvel posted some this evening

By the look of those new  works I think you're gonna need to take some wellies Dons ... it's been tipping it down here (12 miles from Darvel) for days now so I think we're talking serious mud ...

Certainly unusual to literally rebuild the ground immediately before a tie.

Will people be standing on the slope with the barrier behind them, and the flat bit at the top is a walkway; or will the slope not be utilised, with people lining the barrier like a sort of huge gallery; or both?

EDIT: From another thread:

6 new turnstiles have been added and 3 new 4m emergency exit gates, the ground can be evacuated in 7mins. The P&S factor calculation of the ground is actually about 4500, it was lowered to 4000 to be safer on 2 people per sqm rather than 3 or 4.

The barriers are rated at 40 newton per kg, and uprights are spaced at 1.2m rather than 1.5m to increase strength, Aberdeen were also offered OXO crush barriers to be hired in.

All the ground works are complete and achieved on schedule and the car park is being tidied up at the moment.

Given Aberdeen's current form maybe they’d prefer to play this at another ground as it doesn’t suit them. There nothing wrong with the works done, the safety calculations or the match safety plan.

All safety aspects in terms of the agreed capacity of 4000 have been met. These request Safety Advisor Group chaired by the council. We have followed all requirements set out. We didn’t set the capacity after all the works were complete, it was the council.

Surprised to see the Darvel manager and also this person (chairman?) going on to Darvel thread to answer questions about the game. Can't see Goodwin or Cormark doing that.

That looks awful. If you have more than one person between you and the barrier you won’t be able to see a thing. Even those at the front will be as far from the pitch as they will be in the East Stand at Hampden and there appears to be a scaffolding tower in the way too.

To be fair to Darvel, it wasn’t that much better at Peterhead in the summer, although it was tarmac to stand on but still 3/4 deep impossible to see

Manager seems like a decent bloke good coach, chairman is a bell end as soon as a camera is out you won't get his face off it.

There was so many fans that couldn't see the Peterhead game due to being 3 or 4 deep so some fans climbed up the wall. It was also the same with Annan game so Darvel should be applauded for trying to give fans a view - just hope its nae going to be a muddy

This looks like the same problem as Annan though, fans are raised up from the pitch but it’s a flat surface so if anyone is in front of you, you won’t be able to the near side goal line.

KEY INFO:

Due to facilities at Recreation Park there are no seating options available for AFC supporters.

The area in which away fans will be situated is elevated and flat and those not at the front may not be able to see the pitch. Please bear in mind that the area is not sheltered and will be open to the elements.

TV gantries will be in place due the to live broadcast of this match and the one in particular behind the goal at the away end may affect sight lines.

Can't be any worse than Annan and Peterhead games.

Wasn’t at Annan, but I’m imagining it’ll be the same as Peterhead was was shite unless you were right at the front. Need to be in very early and hope it’s not raining, or else we’re looking at a soaking on the scale not seen since Alloa In 2009.

That is the worst soaking I had at a football match!

Weather forecast at the moment has rain before the match:
