Presumably it's to try and confuse SF with regard to who precisely is eligible and who isn't, and therefore make the intended recipient of the forward pass less obvious, but all you need to do is play off them and watch who advances beyond the L.O.S at the snap and who doesn't. Being innovative is great, but it's a bit pointless when success is dependant upon the opponent shitting the bed and doing something stupid because they don't understand rules. It was truly bizarre. Think next week is as far we go. So many bits of the team weren't quite firing last night. Pass rush rarely got near Prescott, and you saw what happened when they did with the two picks. Took ages for the run game to kick into gear and pick up yards, but ultimately that was what won the game. Purdy didn't throw many good passes, but he did nail a lot of important ones while once again staying pick free. They can introduce a new stat for Kittle, he made 9 yards during that juggled catch from when he first touched it until he had it in both hands.
