Ayr United ⚪️⚫️ Vs Partick Thistle 🟡🔴 18 February

Recommended Posts

Well that's a turn for the books, one of the most bizarre timings...

Kris Doolan who if i'm wrong only joined Partick about 4 weeks ago flung in at the deep end, i think players will chuck it as lot of them are McCall players such as Graham, Docherty, Bannigan and Aero etc

Can see this only helping us but who knows... probably be a pumping dished out on Saturday by one team but could be a toss up from either side depending on who turns up

Oooh Uncle Ian... that's a wee shame.

Rudderless pish at home without their best striker sounds like a job for the old 5-4-1, utilising the innovative "long ball" technique recently perfected by the Norwegians.

Bannigan and Muirhead were team-mates of Doolan for several years in our team which got promoted to the Premiership.  I'm pretty sure he's good pals with Banzo too, so the latter is unlikely to "chuck it" now that Doolan is interim manager.

I agree that anything could happen on Saturday though...

Draw likely for this.  Should be seeing off teams like this comfortably but we are wildly off form just now.

That's just trying too hard. 3/10 from me.

We need to get back to someone playing up to with Dipo again or there's no point this week.

Albinson

McAllister Kirk McGinty Reading

Mullin McAlear Dempsey O'Connor

McKenzie Akinyemi

Subs: McAdams, Houston, Hewitt Watret,, Bilham, Smith, JML, Ashford, Bryden

If we can get McKenzie and Dipo linking up again we'll cause problems.  Optimistic 3-1 win for us.

Not sure what you disagree with m77?

Our league form is off a cliff, hence change of manager. A fixture we would normally be confident in winning but I would take a draw right now

We've met 6 times at Somerset since 2018 (2012 was the previous one at Somerset), 4 wins for Ayr and 2 for Thistle, so not so much a dominant record to be over confident about in expecting a win, regardless of form.

Tiffoney back and up against any of our full backs is a pretty terrifying thought…

If he plays anything like he usually does at Somerset then we've got nothing to worry about at all.....

Haven’t missed a game in a while and probably wasn’t planning to go to this one, but now quite intrigued to see how the side do in Dools’ first game in charge.

Feel slightly better now Dowds and Tiffoney are fit unless Tiffoney has done his usual for this season where he's good for 1 start every couple of months before breaking down again.

Sneddon

McMillan McAvoy Holt Milne

Docherty  Bannigan

Lawless Turner Tiffoney

Dowds

This would probably be my team too, I don’t see Doolan making any drastic changes to the usual formation, might opt for Aero ahead of McAvoy simply because I guess he’d “trust” Aero - but I was impressed with Connor’s performance at Ibrox.
