Football needs a tiered punishment for handball in the area.

For me, the way the rules are now it is a penalty. Purely using the five a side principle of "if you did that im fives youd give the ball back" so its therefore a foul.

But was handballs like that, and loads throughout the season, a penalty is too severe a punishment for what is a really minor infringement. 

Imo there should be a mechanism for giving an indirect free kick or corner when the ball isnt going towards goal or clearly isnt deliberate.
