Devastated.

Hope you guys stay competitive and maybe even rebound straight back up again but it’s going to be a make or break season or 2 for the club and the SoS league. Most of us haven’t forgotten that Dalbeattie Star are/were one of the top LL clubs for the first few seasons and looked a really good team

Not being pedantic but for some reason football is the only organisation that calls down here "south"  British/Scottish Government, Councils, tourist board, locals etc all call us the South West. The Borders is not known as the South or even the South East.

So where is the south of Scotland then, if you're claiming that Galloway isn't part of it, and that the Borders isn't part of it either? Are we actually living on Craggy Island and the 'south' side of the country just floated away in the night instead?

Just noticed there's a good chance of Greenock Juniors relegated to the WoS Third Division. That'd be two trips to D&G next season.

Perfect opportunity to turn this online back and forth into an in person protest.

You can send that utterly pointless outfit to Castle Douglas, Orkney and St Kilda in the same week for all I'd care.

Still, that's another money grabbing diddy flushed away.

Correct, after 2 no votes and an abstention Dalbeattie are still a diddy club. Flushed away, yes, spent all the money gold plating the toilets and wash hand basins in the dressing rooms. What they had left they spent on handing out goody bags to away supporters, bags full of resentment and jealousy.

The League has got stronger and better over the years but if anything Dalbeattie have went backwards. Now is just time to reset and go again. Thoroughly enjoyed watching Dalbeattie in the Lowland League over the last 10 seasons. Hopefully see you all soon. Up the Star⭐

You haven't went backwards though.

Thing is you'll be strong favs to win the SoSFL so you'll easily get a shot at a play off v the EoSFL champions and WoSFL (licensed) champions unlike other former LL clubs.

I suppose a similar scenario lies in the Highlands where its going to get even weaker should a conference League develop.

The pyramid whilst as much I want it to work wi proper relegations/promotions is incredibly lop sided wi Scotlands geographical teams.

It's difficult to get round that anomaly.

Maybe try watching Official Catch Up on YouTube regarding 2024/2025 LL promotion spots.

If the LL chairman is correct then Dalbeattie Star or another Sosfl licensed placed club will gain automatic promotion to the LL if they pass the criteria without a playoff.

Makes it even easier then?

That'd be to fill vacancies, even then something he hoped would happen. It wasn't clear what the promotion/relegation would look like after that transitional season as none of that has been decided yet.

I went to Dalbeattie a few weeks ago. Had a great day. Realistically though the LL is not for you at the moment. Hope this gives you a chance to get sorted and be more competitive

He said that its for one season only when the conference is about to start and takes 4 lowland league teams, so the champions of WOSFL, EOSFL and SOSFL will all be promoted but then the following seasons will revert back to the current relegation of the Lowland league.     I don't believe there was any mention if the winners of the 3 tier 6 leagues were not licensed then they would not go up which is part of the criteria to be licensed, so would the 2nd or 3rd placed teams if licensed, would they go up, only part I'm unsure of

Unlicensed teams can't go up to the Lowland League.   How the powers that be deal with that issue is one of several things to be sorted before 23/24 season kicks off.

For me the BIG question is do clubs HAVE to play in the Conference in 24/25.   There sounds like very little enthusiasm from the Highlands.  Do the top 2 HL and top 5 LL clubs  HAVE to move to the conference to play v the 3 B teams.   If the HL teams can say "no" then potentially you have 7 LL teams heading up to the conference.

There are just so many unknowns just now.
