Brechin City is the only club I know who publish them but I reckon they count all their season ticket holders whether they turn up or not, I think their figure of 450 for the Clach game is pushing it. https://www.brechincity.com/bcfc/p/s The season ticket figure at Brechin is monitored by the fan base app as you have to scan your ticket on entry. So you reckon wrong.

Brechin being the recent exception, and even theirs have had doubt cast upon them. Why would you doubt Brechin's attendances ? When you have to report figures to HMRC surely you try to keep your figures as accurate as possible ?

That's the difference at Brechin. They like to keep things as accurate as possible. How do they monitor attendances at those grounds with a guy standing at a table taking cash ? They hand out numbered wee tickets, different colour for full price or concessions. Clach aren't selling season tickets this season.

Edzellcityfan
How can you tell by the eye how many people are attending a game at a ground you're not familiar with? Fair enough if you're there every week, you can get a good guess based on previous games.

You can make a decent quick guesstimate by adding up rough batches of ten.
Jimmy Shaker
Dunno what it’s like for you lot locally, but counting is taught in schools across the country, Brechiners.
LongTimeLurker
Maybe the issue is that they reach 12 and run out of fingers? I would add to welshbairn's take on this that once you have decided on how much of the crowd approximates to ten groups of ten. It's not so difficult at most games beneath Championship level to guesstimate to the nearest hundred after that.

Folk in Brechin generally go to the fitba to watch the fitba , not the crowd. Maybe explains the lack of actual fitba talk in the highland forums.
