Dundee United 23/24

I'm not in the neutral camp regarding Fletcher leaving, for me he did put in the effort, but the managers (all three) didn’t play to his strengths, and given Goodwin is here presently as manager, I can’t see him readily changing his tactics.

Over and above this, Fletcher missed many chances which you’d expect your main striker to net, some of them in the ‘sitter’ class. Rarely did I hear or read of him being slated for that, because of course there were plenty of others in the team who didn’t put in the same obvious energy to their performances.

Well that's a big wage off the books. Cheers for the effort big man.

He was one of the very few positives from last season, so there's that. Don't blame him for not wanting to be playing in the Championship at this stage in his career

Would say that's his level if he wants to keep playing, must be deluded, a 'past it/overpaid has been'.

Thank you.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on next season. Presumably the goals will be flying in

While I get the sentiment, I thought the point was his wage wasn't 'on the books' in terms of the normal wage budget. Hopefully fans don't expect his wage to be used bringing more players in.

Well, quite. It took the signing of Lawrence Shankland to get us out of this league last time. Who's gonna lead the line now?

I'm guessing his replacement will be another budget option.

Is there any evidence of this or is it just rumour or conjecture?

If he’s not being paid by the club then who is paying his wages?
