Clyde Season 23/24

Recommended Posts

King is a superb prospect and many Morton fans would have him starting for us this week especially with our small squad and injuries.

Bags of skill and a fine shot on him - expect him to score a few worldies. He should have no bother standing out in L2 despite his young age.

You should be pretty happy with that signing.

If you go on to the Morton twitter account page and search the word King on it you'll see a few of his goals, the majority of which were scored when he was still 17 last season.

Am absolutely fantastic prospect and already has the body of a man so should cope comfortably with the physicality of league 2.

The amount of Morton fans moaning at him being loaned out is a promising sign and he’s defo going to be an upgrade on Dylan Duncan so reasonably pleased. Could still urgently do with a few more through the door though.

There have been other class loan signings like Kris Doolan and Scott Tiffoney who contributed nothing despite being good everywhere else.

This does seem like the profile of player who will make a difference though. We've desperately needed someone to link midfield to attack and if he can beat a player, even better.

He'll definitely not be scoring a free kick for Clyde though.

Leighfield

McCulloch - Sula - Dunachie - Lyon

L. Scullion - Cuddihy

Leslie    -      King - Stevenson

Rennie

Subs: Parry, Craig, P. Grant, Hynes, Carswell, Forbes, Cameron, C. Scullion, Mulvanny, Malcolm

This is what we'll probably look like in a couple of weeks, so we don't really need any more numbers - better quality in some areas would, of course, be lovely, but that looks every bit to me like a solid upper-mid-table League 2 squad. Slight concern in that King and Leslie are only with us until January (think we'd be far more likely to see the latter's stay extended than the former's, if both do well), but you'd imagine McLean will have identified and worked on new and probably permanent signing targets for when that window comes.

ETA: Forgot Darren Hynes exists

What’s the sketch with Hynes? How’s he been doing?

Was out injured since the Play Off Final in May and has only reappeared in the past few games. Started really quite poorly with us last season but has looked fairly solid since coming back. Certainly looks like he’ll be a handy player to have in the squad in League Two.

Aye, I don’t think our squad seems as bad as some seem to make out. Certainly not world beaters but we look much more solid now than we did a couple of months ago. We’ve had a rotten start but that was in no small part due to the huge injury list we’ve endured.  Ray Grant coming back in too will be a bonus.
