Airdrieonians 23/24 Championship Thread♦️

Seen on the Partick page, they'd like their club  to sign Kerr McInroy. He's definitely the type of player I'd love to see back in the diamond. And given their financial turmoil and player evacuation, I'd like to think. we'd have a decent chance of getting him over that mob.

Be a great signing but a big if I think, still under contract at killie so it’s whether they’d let him leave on loan or not.

No doubt Ian Murray will be hovering with intent as we speak!

Absolutely nothing in it from my end, other than seeing it on the Partick thread. You'd like to think we are a better prospect that Thistle right now given their financial woes and their best players leaving. Maybe not though.

Anyway, still confident that Rhys will bring in the right quality additions to what I believe is already a very solid squad now.

Not at all convinced that Partick's budget will be affected as much as people are thinking. They've just given Brian Graham a 2 year deal, and he'd still walk into most teams in this division so would have had good offers from elsewhere. They'll still be offering comfortably more than we are I think. No way we could afford someone like McInroy.

Yeh, don't disagree but Rhys has mentioned adding quality which means we will have to pay a bit more and whilst it's easy for me to tell PH to dig a little deeper, I'm pretty sure our remaining signings, whether full time or loanees will define our season.

It will be extremely unlikely that Todorov & Gal will start many games together therefore, unless O'Connor & Aiken force their way in then we haven't yet improved our starting 11. (Not based on too much but I believe O'Connor can)

Partick will be a bigger draw than Airdrie, they're an established championship club, in a good location and they'll be able to offer bigger wages. What would Airdrie be able to offer that would make them a bigger draw?

Good banter, we would be able to offer good banter.

He’s been at us before for a start so will be familiar with the set up. I could see him playing every week with us so there’s guaranteed game time to add to the equation. Obviously Patrick could offer higher wages but if it’s a loan deal then that wouldn’t really matter.

It's all speculation, I'm sure just about every championship club in Scotland would have him and perhaps some others from elsewhere but wages do come into it in loan deals.
