There’s a very valid argument that we should have no sympathy for anyone who is opposed to gun control getting shot at.

A large chunk of Americans think guns are the answer to a multitude of problems. They shouldn’t be surprised when they see guns used in a way they don’t like.

But we in the UK have a horrific knife crime epidemic, per 100,000 population we are not far behind the USA with knives.

Also our society has accepted police forces carrying weapons, and I've noticed an increase in Police using their guns over the last few years and it barely gets a mention in the press, airport police armed with semi automatic weapons barely get a glance as we go on holiday.

And as the police arm up so will the villains.

In 2018, the Small Arms Survey estimated that there were 978,000 unregistered firearms in England, Scotland and Wales, along with another 53,000 in Northern Ireland.13 Jul 2022

There are more per capita murders by knife in the USA vs the UK.

Despite the shite the likes of Marjorie Taylor Green spouts

The figures are closer than you think, and surprising given the population difference.

isn't it USA 4.96 per million knife murders to the UK's 3.26 per million.

Closer when you think the USA has something like 5 times the population of the UK.

And that was 2016/2017 figures.

Didn't it occur to you that in a country where it's incredibly easy to get hold of guns, people who want to kill someone are less likely to choose a knife? While in countries where guns are very hard to get, would-be killers have no option but to use something like a knife?

So having a higher knife homicide rate on top of 75% of homicides involving a firearm is really, really bad?

The USA's homicide rate is 6 times higher than the UK's. In 2019 London had one of its worst years in recent times for homicides. The city of St Louis, Missouri had a homicide rate 43 TIMES higher.

Has the Paprika p***k started on the full-throated "I'm not going to win because it's all rigged" spiel yet?

I'm curious if he's been less forthright about the Big Steal stuff than he was in 2016 and 2020, or if it's just not really being reported here. Surely it'll be all he's banging on about in a month's time if he slips even further behind in the polls.

These guys make me feel really uncomfortable.  Trained personnel or not it's a f**king horrible knowing it just takes a moment's misjudgment from them and it's goodnight, nevermind if one of them decides it's one shift too many and their taking out what they can.

'Dan Bongino' and 'Head' is amusing given his hairline's running away faster and more comically than Josh Hawley on January 6th.

You could have just said “you are correct”

Usual caveats apply but this is still encouraging.

Within swing states there are bellweather counties and Harris seems to be prevailing in the Pennsylvania ones at the moment.
