Big win for Johnstone Burgh tonight. Looking at the remaining fixtures I think it’s a possibility that Johnstone Burgh, Shotts and Ashfield might all finish on 59 points

Don't discount the Drum, or Glens their last three games are at home, win them and they could go up

im assuming the Drum go ahead and win the league leaving the other three possibly all on 59 points, with my calculation/prediction being draws for Burgh and Shotts away to Glencairn

Burgh 2 up at Thorniewood. Second goal is a worldy by Blair Rossiter, right in the top corner. Game is being filmed so I’d imagine there will be footage of it at some point

Burgh doing well with their new management team and ending the season well

momentum’s a big thing at this time of the season

Yeah though hard when so many games behind. Normally teams like talbot struggle when playing catch up but burgh do have a big squad

Drumchapel are effectively promoted, only a catastrophic turnaround in goal difference over their remaining three games could change that now.

Shotts v Drumchapel last night was the textbook "game of two halves". Shotts had the strong wind at their backs in the first half but couldn't capitalise, and Drumchapel took full advantage in the second half with the wind at their backs and the big pitch as Shotts noticeably but understandably tired going into the final half hour.

Tomorrow's big games in the promotion and relegation issue :-

Johnstone Burgh v Kilbirnie Ladeside

Rutherglen Glencairn v Shotts Bon Accord

St Roch's v Drumchapel United

Thorniewood United v Ashfield

Maybole Juniors v Cambuslang Rangers

A favour from Kilbirnie and Thorniewood would be nice, then Kilbirnie can put their feet up and start thinking about next season.

Shotts suffered because of fixture schedule that is no doubt. Players at this level or any level are not conditioned to a schedule like this.

Can you imagine the top level boys being asked to play this schedule? And they're not doing a full time job every day either. It's a scandal tbh.

A bit dramatic, lol.

I'm not really sure what options Kennie had, the fixtures had to be fitted in somewhere, with SBA having no free midweek dates since the nights became light enough to play without lights, and also two games scheduled between the original end of season date of 11th and the new end of season date of the 18th. They either had to play two midweek games this week or next to get the season finished.

Unfortunately, at all levels of the game, when teams are successful in cup competitions, coupled with a few weather postponements during the season (home or away), a backlog builds up. Remember how it affected Rangers in the build-up to the 2008 UEFA Cup Final in Manchester, and the controversy there was about getting the season finished on time and the request for extensions.

It's hardly a scandal.

Seems to me that the "we're led by what the clubs want" thing was taken too far in that at the start of the season clubs wanted to protect their Saturday hospitality income rather than have midweek games scheduled. Whereas that is understandable and in principle is giving the clubs their say, the league should have been stronger and insisted on having them played early. Hopefully that will be pointed out to clubs now and fixed for next season. After all, from the outside this fixture pile up is a reflection on the league, not the clubs.

I say it's a scandal because young men are being asked to work all day then leave their young families three or four times a week to play these matches. There's also fans being asked to shell out three or four admission fees per week. As a committee member of your club and the league, you're not playing or paying (monetarily anyway) so maybe you don't see it that way.

Aye, no-one to blame, cup runs contributed as much as postponed games. I don't think having lights would've helped much and God knows how much it would be for astro at Shotts.

Anyway, Rutherglen will lose to Johnstone, you'd be as well looking at a few trialists on Saturday.

What hospitality income?
