Whereas that is understandable and in principle is giving the clubs their say, the league should have been stronger and insisted on having them played early. Hopefully that will be pointed out to clubs now and fixed for next season. After all, from the outside this fixture pile up is a reflection on the league, not the clubs. I say it's a scandal because young men are being asked to work all day then leave their young families three or four times a week to play these matches. There's also fans being asked to shell out three or four admission fees per week. As a committee member of your club and the league, you're not playing or paying (monetarily anyway) so maybe you don't see it that way. The leagues did take on two midweeks at the start of the season. It could maybe be increased a bit. I know more so from the Premier point of view, clubs with home games and floodlights having clearing out a backlog of postponed fixtures many of which were originally for 2023. Those could have been scheduled earlier.

You are aware that all teams played two midweek games early in the season before it became too dark to play under lights in midweek, at the request of the clubs ?

We'll be lucky if we can scrape a team together for tomorrow, we have two away on holiday, two working, three injured and one at a family wedding........

Yes, that's what I was referring to but clubs with lights should have been forced to play more.

After all, there were midweek games put in during November when it was becoming clear that this situation was going to happen. The problem was that the frosty nights had set in by that point.

cultured_left_foot
One win out of three for Johnstone Burgh will see them promoted. A couple of weeks ago their season really looked like it was unravelling. good win for Cambuslang aswell today at the other end to give themselves a chance

glensmad
That's an enormous result for Cambuslang Rangers. If Maybole lose to Johnstone Burgh on Tuesday, they then face Drumchapel United away on Friday which could be Drum's trophy presentation night. At the same time Cambuslang are at home to Petershill who haven't played for a couple of weeks. If Maybole don't pick up anything from those two games, and Cambuslang beat Peasy, then Cambuslang's fate comes down to Maybole's last game - away to Rutherglen Glencairn. Owen McGinty seems to score a fair few for Cambuslang. Good to see, despite him being a bit of a pain to play against.
