FK1Bairn Posted Sunday at 15:42 Share Posted Sunday at 15:42 As much as I despite Man City, that's absolutely the correct decision to award the goal. Silva does bump Sa but Sa's not coming for the corner, there's a clear gap between them at the point Stones heads the ball and Sa has a clear view of the ball the full time. He's never saving the header anyway and there's no way Silva is interfering. The main complaint Wolves have is the timing of the goal being pretty much the last kick. If that happens in the opening 10 minutes they've got a chance to get back in to the game
HeartsOfficialMoaner Posted Sunday at 15:50 Share Posted Sunday at 15:50 Pool v Chels pretty boring so far
The Master Posted Sunday at 16:00 Share Posted Sunday at 16:00 The length of time it now takes for penalties to be taken is ridiculous.
eez-eh Posted Sunday at 16:00 Share Posted Sunday at 16:00 That probably is a (soft) penalty but it was only a matter of time once they started throwing themselves about and got the crowd raging.
senorsoupe Posted Sunday at 16:19 Share Posted Sunday at 16:19 Why did the Chelsea goalie need to do that? It's another pretty soft one though
Ro Sham Bo Posted Sunday at 16:21 Share Posted Sunday at 16:21 Dean has gone from Sanchez "wiping out" Jones to "inevitable coming together".
senorsoupe Posted Sunday at 16:21 Share Posted Sunday at 16:21 OK on second look that's no pen, correct call to overturn

Funnily enough he changed his view as soon the referee went to the monitor.
DrewDon Posted Sunday at 16:22 Share Posted Sunday at 16:22 I enjoyed Dean changing his mind about the decision mid-sentence when he realised that it was going to an on-field review.
eez-eh Posted Sunday at 16:22 Share Posted Sunday at 16:22 (edited) “He got the ball” does seem to now only work with goalies. In the middle of the pitch that’s probably a foul. Edited Sunday at 16:23 by eez-eh

You’re doing an awful lot of inferring there. I don’t care that Liverpool didn’t get it after they’ve been chucking themselves about all first half, it’s just notable how differently those tackles are refereed when it a goalkeeper or someone else.
itzdrk Posted Sunday at 16:31 Share Posted Sunday at 16:31 Thought it was soft on first viewing but I'd be screaming for it if it was against Ayr.
Loonytoons Posted Sunday at 16:34 Share Posted Sunday at 16:34 I'd rather they called it a pelanty than a pen.

I don't think the keeper is getting preferential treatment. It is very rare you see an outfield player tackle like that where they want to keep their whole body in front of the player AND spread themselves into a low base. If it is two out field players they would clash body to body. You see this a lot with wingers taking on full backs and usually the attacker is penalised for essentially barging through a legal tackle.

I wasn't trying to be funny. Goalkeepers have always been allowed to slide in like that to take the ball. If they were to say that's a penalty after the GK clearly got the ball first then they'd have to change what GKs are allowed to do.
