the_bully_wee Posted September 23, 2023 Share Posted September 23, 2023 McLean didn't help himself at all changing the shape so much once we led - while we were still on top in the first half, it killed our momentum. The second half, particularly after Sula's own goal, was entirely unacceptable though. They were all absolutely terrified and ended up knackered with 15 to go, and the subs only made us worse. That game was crying out for us to have a Ray Grant available; we desperately need a couple of him, Cuddihy and Scullion available again. Young looks like he could be a player but, like too many others, is quite raw. King has a great deal of talent but you saw today why he's ended up here. Still, it was a must-win game and we've won it; two great goals to do so as well. We were an absolute mess when Carswell and Hynes went off, Rennie as well to some extent. Sula and Dunachie were absolutely outstanding in the last 15. Young and King both good additions. Dunachie put in a shift as per and what a difference between those two halves. Oh and how can a man of Ross Forbes bulk manage to be so anonymous in the centre of the park? Slow start from both sides but Clyde had probably edged it prior to the goal. We were really flat first half. Second half we got ourselves into a lot of good positions but just couldn’t get a shot away. Clyde had some good chances to make it 3-1.
