Do share how you know they had tickets?

We all know the more likely scenario from the fan base with history of this.

They were inside and there were 2 checks before getting to the turnstiles. Are you claiming most Celtic fan at away grounds don’t have tickets? What history are you referring too?

I think what is being said here is that

1 - fans with legitimate tickets get into the ground in the normal way

2 - once inside they use force of numbers to kick the fire exits out from the inside to let their ticketless mates in

This doesn’t happen by chance and is pre planned.

Not sure what the answer is other than spending a fortune on extra Police and Security. In the old days of paper tickets there was a cordon round the ground and you had to show your ticket . That’s a bit more difficult now if tickets are on phones as chancers can just say their ticket is on their mates phone .

Though probably not impossible if it was publicised beforehand that you had to be with the person who had the tickets on their phone and that there would be a cordon. As I say I don’t know how realistic this is .

Celtic fans are funny when it comes to things like this.  We all know what went on prior to the game on Saturday. Every fan of every club who've ever had a home game against Celtic knows what went on.  Celtic fans know went on.  A section of Celtic fans were undeniably in the wrong based on their behaviour.  The police response was also wrong, IMO.

However, the lengths Celtic fans go to to try and, once again, paint themselves as the victim of all of this, when they started it all, is incredible.  I think the new-age Celtic fan has spent too long seeing their club and their fans become 'the establishment', they all get far too excited about the prospect of becoming the 'poor wee us' victims the generations before them had to endure.

Calling out shite behaviour, even from fans of the team you support, does not in anyway make you less of a fan of that team.  Grow up.  Call it out!

Aye, it seems odd to focus on the police trying to hold the doors closed as the main safety issue here. If they had allowed the doors to be opened and more piled in (either without tickets or into sections that are already full) that surely increases the safety risk.

Going by that video, and the fact there were a couple of checks before getting close to the ground, there wasn’t anyone outside, just police and fans in a queue.

still think it would be easier to open the door and grab the idiots that are trying to open it.

What's the point in even trying to engage with people that think booting down fire exits is normal behaviour.

So if that’s the case, then surely the obvious question is: why are Celtic fans trying to boot open a fire exit if there is no purpose for doing so?

I don’t imagine they are trying to break it open just for some fresh air.

I know you’re just trying to be a smart ass but I’ve no idea if they knew what was outside, prob thought or were told there were fans locked out, there were plenty looking for tickets. Just think it’s idiots being idiots and the police should’ve let them open it and grabbed them.

Not condoning this type of behaviour before any bedwetters get agitated, but do you ever wonder why this type of shite doesn’t happen up and down the UK on match days? Because proper infrastructure is in place to prevent this from being an issue.
And as for Celtic fans playing victims, I think pointing out that security staff en mass forcibly holding shut a fire exit is noteworthy at least.
Tin pot Scottish football thread for this.

It absolutely is, but it's been mentioned by loads of posters several times.  What were they doing this in response to?

I’m not expecting any apology or acknowledgment of wrongdoing from the Celtic fans on here . That’s never going to happen. That doesn’t mean to say that the issues aren’t important or don’t need highlighting .

.I’ve never gone to a football match expecting to force my way in for free and it just shows the mentality and sense of entitlement that exists within a section of the Celtic support . And just because Celtic pay us for the trashed seats doesn’t make it right.

We entertain Rangers at home on 23rd December and it will be interesting to see if we have the same issues then. I have a feeling we will.

Idiot football fans taking advantage of a situation that should never have presented itself.
Lessons learned, I hate all this hysteria and blame culture we have nowadays.
Celtic fans are at fault, they certainly are. But get your own house in order before you start pointing fingers.

It was a genuine question followed by a facetious comment. What plausible reason could there be for Celtic fans trying to break down a door other than to try and let fellow supporters in?

A situation that should never have presented itself? What is the situation that presented itself, a fire exit door existing?

No, already said in a previous post before you jumped in feet first, up-to-date stadia infrastructure.
And before you start being an askhole, it does exist without allowing away fans to freely enter & exit as they see fit.
