Pornography watchers "to have faces scanned for age verification"

I haven't done a sociological study or done a deep dive of the data but children accessing massive quantities of hardcore pornography seems like a bad thing tbh.  There are already a lot of regulations of ISPs in the UK and the access to adult sites is quite tightly controlled at the moment.  You'd hope that this generation of parents are more able to regulate their childrens devices, the days of children explaining to parents what an internet is are gone I think.

Is it quite straightforward to restrict access on a child's device? Presumably there are ways around it that would quickly be discovered by hormonally exploding pubescent boys? Like going incognito for example?

Is that not the path down which Pete Townsend went “researching”?

Certainly not. I actually think it's horrendous that most children learn about sex from porn sites, and am not surprised that some surveys have found that increasing numbers of young people have gone right off sex and relationships as a result. Bring back the lingerie catalogues!

Those dastardly pornmongers, seeking to evade UK law by not being subject to UK law. How dare they!

The Government appears to be working on the basis that they simply won't think of this, or that the vast bulk of sites which are already hosted outside of the UK will voluntarily opt in, which is utterly risible, but completely in keeping with just how clueless this Tory government are.

It's soundbite nonsense designed to pander to lazy parents who also have no idea how technology or the internet functions.

Shall I put the Michael Matheson picture up again.

If not there's a real danger that nobody will be around to look after us when we get old, or in my case older. Fucked if I'm paying some Belarusian or whatever with a moustache £38 grand a year to wipe my arse.

Is that one from your private collection? Looks woefully underused.

Unfortunately no, very rare, probably worth a fair bit. Would take it to Dickinsons Real Deal, or Antiques Roadshow for an evaluation, if I owned it.

Thank you.

There’s always the ‘Secrets in Lace’ website and their ‘how to’ videos… I believe, well, erm, so a friend told me, etc, ahem.

I dunno. There used to be a record shop called The Lost Chord on Park Road sold second hand scudbooks, which always struck me as a bit of a catch 22 - if they were full of sticky pages you wouldn’t want them, if they weren’t, they probably weren’t very good so you didn’t want them either.
