The Dons v Motherwell

They need to change the offside law. Tight calls like that should always be goals imo. I preferred it when there had to be “daylight” for it to be offside.

The issue with "daylight ruling" and VAR now though is that the time to make decisions and draw lines will always be there now.

That's why Wegner's offside idea is doomed to fail too, as it won't change the way the games stopped and checked, still will be a mm on or off which I don't think is in the spirit of the game.

Aberdeen's form is going to improve after they stop playing European games.

It's actually going to improve when they get to play some home games.

No, it'll really improve when they play four at the back.

Actually, it'll improve when they bin Robson.

What'll really save their season is their games in hand.

Hear me out here; maybe the team sitting ninth in the league in mid-February is actually just shite.

Here speaks experience

Im sure you were the poster claiming third LAST season was a given for hearts once you were finished in Europe

Still, if you claim every season hearts will finish above Aberdeen you will be right about every 6 years on average!

You were the fan who was "done with Hearts" and done with football pre your win at Celtic Park as well

Too tight to call so think they just stuck with the on field decision which I can accept. VAR is still shite though

disallowed Motherwell goal I think I'd be asking for a penalty for a shirt pull before the push.

This was mentioned in a chat anaw.

That would suggest you lot should have far more points than Hearts in the all time league table, but that is not the case Hearts are above Aberdeen .   If you think that the timeframe I'm using is too long, how about the last three seasons? If the league was stopped now in the last three years you've averaged about 7th place, Hearts have averaged about 3rd. <smug smilie>

We've played in the bottom six half as many times as Aberdeen. Aberdeen are on course to make it bottom six football in more than a third of the season since the split was introduced. It's becoming their natural habitat. But when we play in it, we like to REALLY make our presence felt. We don't f**k about.

Anyway, this feels like poverty porn. A fun diversion to the wee teams at the more obscure end of the league.

Well done to both of them!

The bottom six we know about. The championship we don't.

Given a gift by Aberdeen in the first 25 mins and wasted it.

Your standard Liam Kelly half punch giving away a goal from a cross is no surprise.

Starting to really annoy me how bad Butcher is at fouling. Did the same against Celtic to give away a penalty when he's not even directly involved in the play.

Holding on as soon as it went 1-3 is embarrassing. Think we were lucky to walk away with a point all things considered.

Said this earlier the guys is clown imo. He just can’t help himself. Think he is offering very little at the moment. His fouls infuriate me.

If that VAR offside decision went against one of the Old Firm, even if they were like 5-0 up, there would be a month-long campaign for answers.

VAR is rubbish, but it is even worse when it is the utterly, utterly tinpot version that we have up here.

An utterly appalling opening 25 minutes. The worst fears about the line-up and especially the formation were realised. Morris was particularly dismal, but nobody could have had too many complaints about being hooked when he and Polvara gave way. Credit to Warnock, I suppose, for making the changes and getting us a foothold back in the game.

We were broadly excellent in the period between Duk's two goals. Plenty of energy and industry, but also a bit of quality in the final third when we required it - and a couple of near misses, too.

After it went to 3-3, we allowed ourselves to get a bit too frantic, if anything, and it now feels like something of a missed opportunity, even if it could have been much, much worse. Motherwell, to their credit, did knock the ball around quite nicely after we equalised and will also feel that they could have nicked it on another day.

As said above, the VAR decision to rule out the Miovski goal for offside is absolutely tinpot. The technology obviously isn't fit for purpose if we end up saying that is offside with those images.

I know that one wasn't his fault, but Clancy was absolutely appalling all night - not giving obvious yellow cards, letting blatant fouls by both teams go at the end, playing advantage when there was none to be had. I think Warnock and Kettlewell were actually slagging him off together at one point. I know it's fashionable to dislike referees, but Clancy just should not be officiating at top flight level.

That's the one thing I have to give the manager. After watching Barry rarely change anything that wasn't working for months, it was refreshing to see someone hold their hands up and make a fairly early change.

Definitely tried to force things at 3-3. Phillips had a very noticeable one where he tried a wild Hollywood pass, with no clue Devlin was overlapping on the overload.

Clancy was awful tonight. Baffling decisions for both teams.

Man, my plan after that shit show 25 mins was to go grab a steak and black pudding pie then f**k off at half time but the b*****ds managed to get back into the game so I had to stick around.

Shady Mo is not it. Hopefully never see him in an Aberdeen strip ever again.

Hopefully Warnock has learnt all he needs to now and we put in a better performance against Hibs on Saturday.
