Thought I would pop my head in to say "Hello" as we will more than likely be seeing you next year.

It might open up some better players who can't manage their work around a League 2 calender but it find it easier to play LL, maybe on less money too

Hope you’re not suggesting paying players less than the minimum wage

That's pretty standard in football. Given the time commitment for training twice a week, & at least one game (including travel time to away games that should also be paid), if you take an average of say 12 hours a week committed by a player to their club, any player being paid at less than c.£140 a week - of which there will be plenty across this league & other semi-pro leagues - is below the minimum wage.

Extract from SPFL rules:

As at 31 January in each calendar year a Club and the Candidate Club must be, as regards all of its employees, in compliance with the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015 and/or any supplementary, variation or replacement regulations or other provisions in force from time to time

Yup, spot on EB, but there will be plenty of clubs out there that aren't complying.

Stranraer wouldn't be a bad away trip for LL clubs.

Arse end of nowhere, possible potential local derby with Gretna 2008.

local 🤣

I'm sure the self-preservation mix of clubs will be thrilled by Stranraer coming down though. As they won't upset the status quo too much.

As the crow flies Stranraer is closer to Hampden, Belfast, England, the Isle of Man and even the country of Ireland than it is to Gretna. Though Gretna would, just be their shortest drive, if Stranraer go down their geographically closest rival will either be East Kilbride, or if they go up, Caledonian Braves.
