Stranraer v Dumbarton Tuesday 5th March

Recommended Posts

Aggies increasingly nervous Blues take on the resurrection shuffle Sons in a game which could be season-defining for both clubs.

A home win would ease the pressure on Stranraer whilst if the Sons could win here and avoid defeat at Methil on Saturday then a play-off place could be virtually assured.  Who wants it more ?

This, or any result here and a win in Methil and it’s job done.

Always cracks me up a bit just how bad it is. Eight wins in 46 visits  We have only lost one of our last 13 games against Stranraer mind you...

So what you’re saying is you’re due a win?

The opposite actually. We won there last season and have only lost 1 in our last 13 matches with Stranraer, as Jan says above, so if anything we're due a shameful defeat.

Our second half display against Dumbarton showed we’ve got a chance if we get at them however, Saturday showed few signs of encouragement.
Fine defensively but, failed to create.

Pitch has taken a fair beating the last two home games. That probably contributes to our lack of creativity, need a surface that James Dolan and Matty Grant can get the ball down and go at opponents.

It'll still be like Wembley compared to the Somme Siro.

That pitch is the physical manifestation of how Dumbarton Football Club has been run. Like fucking Dorian Gray.

Stranraer seem to be in a bit of a mess on the pitch, but with us you dont seem to know what version of dumbarton are going to show up, fair play to anyone who goes down there tomorrow night..

Durnan being available again is a massive boost although it'll be a few games before he's back up to speed again

Yep, I hope he manages game time tonight especially on a grass park.  Ditto Callum Wilson, and I'm sure they are both desperate to get started.
