Semi Final: Aberdeen vs Celtic

Recommended Posts

Fairly poor first half for us.

We've a great record against Aberdeen, but they look up for it..... And why wouldn't they - a chance to put right a poor season.

Didn't even think it was a foul to be honest

As I said above it really shouldn’t be. But they’ve set a precedent for giving those decisions this season.

I think if folk took the anti-OF goggles off for a minute they’d concede that they don’t actually think something like that should be a handball.

The handball rule is a joke.

We've benefitted more than most from it, but too many things that do not deserve penalties get given as penalties.

Would need to be in A box for it to be a penalty.

Can't be a penalty if it's outside the box tbf.

Looks on the line to me.

100% that gets given as a penalty the other way.

Not a pen for me although I've given up guessing when they will be given now. And ref should  tell them to eff off during the review.

So the decision is no penalty because it’s outside the box, which means it was handball and the referee should have given a free kick.

Nope. It doesn’t work like that. VAR is only checking for a penalty.
Ridiculous as that is.

They change that rule all the time.

We had a goal ruled out this season for a foul, which they spent about 4 minutes finding after the initial check was for offside.

That’s different. If a goal is scored they can rule it out and give a foul.

Not if they are just checking for a penalty.

So if they are checking if it was in the box it is admitting that it was a handball and the linesman who was almost in line with it didn’t spot it or want to give it!

It was clearly handball, but they don't give them v Celtic/Rangers and claim it wasn't clearly wrong when VAR looks. For Celtic/Rangers that gets given by the ref then VAR doesn't change it.

That's a penalty. Scales knows exactly what he's doing and wants no chance of the Aberdeen player cutting inside after beating him.

Aye, his hand moves down towards the ball.
