LAMF is definitely punk IMO. The Stooges is not quite, but Funhouse would be in my top 5 if we're counting them.

Funhouse is still a fantastic record. Punk is a relatively loose term anyway.

I’ve always been a bit shy of seeing folks past their ‘prime’ - when I was about 18 loads of my mates went to see James Brown at Crathes Castle but I dingied it because I didn’t want to see an old James Brown; his best live shit was before my time and I’m ok with that. Bob Mould played a neighborhood street fest in Chicago a couple of years back so I figured I should go and he did a few Husker Du tracks and I didnt know seeing him do them was on my bucket list until he did. He’s still tight as utter f**k, 20 songs in the space of an hour.

Are we counting HAWDCUR/Oi!/Street Punk here?

I was trying not to slip into grindcore, as Discharge were the gateway into that genre and what little survives of pre-Scum Napalm Death's work was pure punk rock.

I dunno if people would still class Napalm Death as punk, but the energy and politics are very much on-point.

4. Fresh fruit for rotten vegetables-Dead Kennedys

Aye these are all screamers to be fair. Shock Troops/Clash/Damned probably being my favourite of the list. Played with Chelsea a few times. Gene October is some boy. Their most recent stuff has been class actually.

About 30 or so years ago I saw Chelsea play in Oscars in Dundee.

Gene was stomping about taps aff with bondage breeks and army boots.

The following afternoon I was having a pint in the Phoenix... in walks Gene, looking pretty dapper with a smart shirt tucked into dress trousers and a pair of brogues.

I don't believe anyone actually likes Crass, they just think they should.

I'm away to dredge through old archives to find bands who no-one has heard of to establish my muso credentials.

Crass had a few good lines but were a bit up themselves. I can still recite without Googling -

"I walk around with a big Alsation

He'll rearrange you without provocation

And I'm the bugger who has got the lead

So you'll have to bright if you want to come at me.

Securicor cares, Securicor cares, Securicor scares the shit out of you"

Securicor's a great name for a mental dog TBF. G4S, not so much.

Presumably that's why they changed the name, and not because of their reputation for being fucking useless.
