Elgin City vs Clyde

Recommended Posts

Today's win saw us leapfrog East Fife and Dumbarton to earn us top spot in the league table for the second half of the season. Seven sides all within 4 points of each other (Bonnyrigg and Stranraer miles behind, Elgin in their own wee battle for 8th). That feels right to be honest; there's not been much in it since the New Year apart from those two stinking the division out.

Strangely, our points tally in those 18 games would only have been good enough for 5th spot in the first half of the season (though obviously the sides above would likely to have lost points to accommodate our substantial improvement).

Shiney was pushed! whoever committed the horrific crime should come forward to the Club and hand in their season ticket

I hope those responsible are brought to justice.

Least enjoyable season of my lifetime over. Thank god.

Get it up you Jimmy Choo and all your burners.

Such a relief to have survived and now the hard work for Allan Maitland begins. Your crowing over what JC has been saying and predicting all season is misplaced.

He was a lot more accurate than most....survived by 2 points in the worst league 2 for many a season......while most sat back silently whilst the inept Board appointed a house brick as manager and a failed manager as sporting director......Allan Maitland and his input is what stopped us going out the cup to 2 pub teams and being confirmed as 10th in League by February....JC was not far wrong and although everyone should be mightily relieved...it's nothing to celebrate until we see Maitland empty that Boardroom and build a squad capable of winning league 2.....after all, we have the money man now.

The Alexander years are over, he failed...he took us back to 8 years ago.....and don't think for one minute just because he's not officially been on the Board he's not been controlling things.

The new side since January, if you started the league again, despite a few poor results, won the second half of the season...that's how utterly dreadful the start was down to Thomson's ludicrous decision making.

And once again, this account is NOT a burner of JC's.

Aye, not really sure what to say about that, we were sublime, Liam Scullion is just a phenomenal wee guy.  Just utter relief.  I have a hangover that would floor an elephant, but absolutely worth it.

Phew, well that's a season to put down to experience, and hopefully learn from.

My nerves are shot and my head is banging after last night's celebratory alcohol. :)

As has been said elsewhere in this thread we have a good football man in charge now in the shape of Mr Maitland, so hopefully next season won't be as much hard work as this one has been.

To quote a famous song, " Things can only get better!!"  Onwards and upwards

Well done Clyde for digging yourselves out of that hole. 🙂

After all the years of instability the fans didn't deserve to have to go through a play off.

I believe the aim is to get to Crownpoint so hopefully reestablish the club going forward 💪
