Scotty Tunbridge
If the tories aren’t hunted out of their majority is this country fucked and they’ll never be out of power? Edited May 22 by Scotty Tunbridge

Thus they won't have valid photo id on election day, won't be able to vote and hence Rishi wins the election. itzdrk
Would be really fun if labour won a majority but Sir Kid Starver did not win his seat.

tongue_tied_danny
I'm fully expecting loads of "culture war" bullshit in the next few weeks. Social media scaremongering about immigrants, LGBTQ, Greta Thunberg etc. I've a horrible feeling that there's enough gammon faced dullards out there who lap that shit up and vote tory in response. oneteaminglasgow
My own take is that he knows they’ll lose but that he reckons enough people won’t vote Labour over Palestine to limit the damage a bit.

The idiot LibDems should have done that in 2010 and been firm on it rather than agreeing on a vote on AV (a bad system) and allowing their coalition partners to campaign against it. Still, Cleggy and Danny boy got to enjoy their ministerial limos for a few years at the cost of their party's future credibility. Oceanlineayr
This election needs a new type of candidate. One to electrify the electorate, one to bring honesty and integrity and most importantly of all have a guid honest cabinet.

Maybe they’ll have learnt a lesson. 28 minutes ago, sparky88 said: The SNP would be daft to do this. No party has benefitted more from FPTP than the SNP. Dozens of seats with at most 5% of the vote. 24 minutes ago, JS_FFC said: The SNP would be absolutely mad to do this. The SNP support PR because it’s a more fair and equitable system, not because it benefits them personally. I know it’s a strange concept to wrap you’re collective heads around.

Swinney made a good point that this election has been called for the first week of the Scottish school holidays when quite a lot of (younger) people may be abroad - but before the English school holidays. Make of that what you will.

Not sure there's enough votes in the strategy, based on Tory/ukip/brexit Party past performance, to overtake Labour. It also encourages more tactical voting against the Tories.
