Time for a thread for this match and the build up to it.

I'm thinking we start with:

Gordon

McRorie Porteus Hanley McKenna Robertson

Gilmour Jack

Forrest  Shankland McGinn

... Basically to:

a) give game time to a few of the rustier/untried players (Jack, Hanley, McRorie, Gordon) and...

b) protect vital and breakable assets - Tierney,  McGregor, McTominay

All being well,  give the b) lads a run out later, along with a debut for Doak.

Thinking 4-0 Scotland

2-2

All this talk of resting important players is fine, but we also don't want to send them into the tournament undercooked having not played for 2/3 weeks by the time we face Germany.

They’re professional athletes. Not playing for a couple of weeks shouldn’t matter.

This seems a bit reductive. "Match sharpness" as its called, is as much mental as it is physical.

Just realised this is a 5pm kick off.

Who's daft idea was it to agree to this?

I'm struggling to get to the ground on time after work.

Given that this is probably intended as a confidence-booster and maybe even a bit of shootie-in practice, I do hope it's as comfortable as we, er, hope.

Any chance it's the usual formation with McLean at LCB?

Good shout. Tea is on. Biscuit is soggy. Can't wait.

Doubt it, but I’m here for the social media tears and snotters if it is.

Forest is number 25. McKenna on the bench is 26. Three sub keepers on the bench all with numbers under 26. Wonder if they allocated anyone 27 and 28...

There’s no number 9 in the squad.  TL;DR I’m none the wiser, but it suggests four keepers and a bit of a sweat for Doak.

There's a good chance.

He played as a centerback for a chunk of last season with Norwich.
