For a couple of seasons in 1930s the Lothian and Border clubs were required to enter the North Qualifying Cup - mainline railway convenience being cited IIRC. (Penicuik reached Final in 1932-33 and even the neutral venue chosen was over 180 miles away in Elgin!).

Lugar Boswell Thistle v Craigmark Burntonians is one of the best-named ties you could hope to find. Bo'ness Athletic will have faced Beith, Cumnock and Auchinleck Talbot in the opening weeks of the season, all at home. And Campbeltown Pupils v Linton Hotspur. How can you not be romantic about football? What competition have they played Cumnock in?

Craig fae the Vale
Vale of Leven 4-4 Kirkcaldy and Dysart (aet, Kirkcaldy win 3-1 on penalties). Vale exit the South Challenge Cup after a wild back and forth game. Will I ever see a Vale team win a penalty shoot out?

Groundhopping Adventures Posted Thursday at 18:14 Share Posted Thursday at 18:14 @HibeeJibee a faster typer than me evidently! Talbot and Polloks heated balls come up trumps again... (a joke calm doon) I'd imagine Eglington v Bo'ness will be moved to the big pitch. Kilwinning are away and there's history of this when they played Clydebank a few seasons ago
