Campbeltown v Linton must be one of the longest ever trips in a "regionalised" competition

In the southerly pyramid, most probably (although Campbeltown's league games against Threave in 2022-23 would certainly be further)... any Aberdeenshire to Wick trip is longer, while Fort William-Shetland and Cove-Shetland in 2008-09's North Challenge Cup would horrify the milometer.

For a couple of seasons in 1930s the Lothian and Border clubs were required to enter the North Qualifying Cup - mainline railway convenience being cited IIRC. (Penicuik reached Final in 1932-33 and even the neutral venue chosen was over 180 miles away in Elgin!).

195 miles, but I think a game against St Cuthbert Wanderers from Kirkcudbright would be the longest, at 222 miles.

Edinburgh United v Glasgow United - than you, God of the Draws.

Lugar Boswell Thistle v Craigmark Burntonians is one of the best-named ties you could hope to find.

Bo'ness Athletic will have faced Beith, Cumnock and Auchinleck Talbot in the opening weeks of the season, all at home.

And Campbeltown Pupils v Linton Hotspur. How can you not be romantic about football?

What competition have they played Cumnock in?

@HibeeJibee a faster typer than me evidently!

Talbot and Polloks heated balls come up trumps again... (a joke calm doon)

I'd imagine Eglington v Bo'ness will be moved to the big pitch. Kilwinning are away and there's history of this when they played Clydebank a few seasons ago
