It would be peak Scotland to be sent home due to Porteous' red card!

Anyway, not had the chance to look at this properly today due to completing leg 1 of the journey to Stuttgart (reached Edinburgh). Saw most of Ukraine game but none of Austria one. Not been a good day for us. Very unlikely now to sneak through with 2 points so we are now in win or bust territory v Hungary. Even that isnt yet certain to be enough but it likely would be.

Updates from me in next 72 hours likely to be sparse. I'm sure @JS_FFC will keep us right though.

We've never been knocked out on discipline before so that would at least be original.

We can always find new ways to eff things up. To be fair, even we must be running out of novelty approaches to head home "early".

Apart from the disciplinary record, are there any other ways left? A massive players' riot on the pitch resulting in expulsion? Fans invading the pitch before kickoff and setting fireworks in the centre circle and in both goal mouths?

We can be a creative bunch when we put our minds to it...

From a glass half empty perspective the bad thing about being the 3rd placed team to play 1st means that the other 3rd placed teams will know what they have to do to qualify.

I just hope we end up with 4 points. It'll then be que sera, sera.

Are there any results today that would increase the chances of Hungary needing to score 3+ against us for them to qualify?

Portugal beating Turkey and Czechoslovakia beating Georgia for sure. That would mean the loser of the TUR/CZE game would finish on 3 points, although obviously there’s the risk of a carve out draw.

We need CZE/GEO to be a draw to have any chance of getting through with 2 points.

Georgia are certainties to lose considering they appear to be playing against two countries.

If we do finish 3rd and progress, it will be against the winner of Group B (Spain or Italy), Group E (Romania Slovakia or Belgium) or Group F (Turkey or Portugal).

Not much point, really...

As long as Spain don't lose to Albania and England don't lose to Slovenia then we're jamming

As much as I'm convinced that this combination will see us good if we win tomorrow, the thought of one or more of them not happening is giving me the fear as we're then moving into the sphere of non 'certainties' to go our way.

So, if Georgia v Czechia finishes a draw and they both lose their last game, and Spain & Italy also win v Albania & Croatia, then a draw is enough for us to go through.

So, given our history with Georgia, they will now score in the 98th minute to grab a draw with the Portuguese in the last game of the group stages, and knock us out.

There is absolutely no chance that both Czechia and Slovakia will beat Georgia.

Moyes made the same error at half time.

This is genuinely crazy.

It's a real possibility that 2 points for us with our shit GD could work out.

Hopefully Clarke doesn't read this thread and settle for a draw.
