Aqy
Good point at Turriff last night, but it's far too little too late. Banks will easily win the play-off.

welshbairn
Fort William's excellent goalkeeper Mateusz Kulbacki has picked a fine time to go home to Poland, won't be back, at least for the play offs.

AsimButtHitsASix
I'm sure there are fans, players, coaches and officials at The Fort who genuinely care about their club and are trying their best. Some might be out of their depth. Some might be getting dragged down by those around them. Hope they enjoy the North Caley next year and get their club back on track. But it does seem like they're all idiots with delusions of grandeur.
Ignoramus
The statement has, of course, been met with unanimous acceptance and complete opprobrium towards the HL from the collection of weirdos on their socials.

It’s all part of the grand agenda to rid the HL of ‘proper Highland clubs’ of course. Never mind the West Coast agenda at the highest level, THAT’S the real one to be looking at

I bet the players and manager feel gutted about it, They would almost certainly have lost but it was their cup final, a conclusion to the season. I get the impression this total farce is all down to the Chairman. Edited May 1, 2022 by welshbairn
Ginaro
They seem to be saying that if a qualified person inspected their pitch in July, or if Fraserburgh turned up on 31st July without the inspection having taken place, that the outcome would have been different? The HL play-off rules make no mention of emergency goalkeepers, but says: "The team list must include two recognised goalkeepers, one of whom must be named as a substitute" "If none of the goalkeepers listed on the Team Line is able to be fielded due to unexpected physical incapacity or other extreme circumstances (which are explained to and accepted by the referee), then one may be replaced but only by an eligible goalkeeper not originally listed on the Team Line as signed." End of the day, they withdrew so tough luck.
welshbairn
The guy who inspected the pitch is a retired referee who lives locally, and if the grass hadn't been mowed, rolled or lined it wouldn't take an active category one ref to say it needed a bit of work.

Cyclizine
What a brass neck the Fort committee have. This omnishambles is entirely of their making. They could've raised concerns about being asked to play away earlier in the season. Some might say if they actually put some effort into having a playable pitch, this could've been avoided. If they thought they were in the right about player eligibility, they should've played the games under protest. By withdrawing, the have lost all credibility, not that they had much to start with.
