doulikefish
Missed the kings speech I'm assuming the lord's is closing down and McFadden is being misquoted when he said the 2 child cap doesn't do any harm even though he was on the BBC?

MazzyStar
I don’t think enough has been made of Starmer, Lammy etc sucking up to Trump now it looks like he’s going to win the election only to be told they’re a bunch of islamists by his VP. Why can’t these cretins accept that the US (republican or democrat) hate the Labour Party. Edited July 17 by MazzyStar

Because the UK is a defacto vassal state and nobody is getting anywhere near power in this country without being fully on board with that.
Jedi2
24 out of the 40 Bill's announced affect Scotland, so over half. (According to the Scottish Parliament's Website) Including Equal Pay for ethnic minorities and people with disabilities, GB Energy, National Wealth Fund, Banning Fire and Rehire, and Zero Hours, Statutory Sick Pay, new Council of the Nations, Border Command (Immigration), Renters Rights, Cyber Security, Bank Recapitalisation in the event of small Banks going under, ending Heridary Peers in the Lords, phasing out Vaping and Smoking. On the same day, Angela Raynor dismissed JD Vance's comments about the UK, so not quite 'cosying up' to Trump.

The poor man must be quaking in his boots. Quote Angela Rayner told ITV that Mr Vance had said "quite a lot of fruity things in the past" but said does not "recognise" his characterisation of the UK. She added that she "looked forward" to meeting him and Donald Trump if they won the US election in November.

Well, I've been told that I should put him on ignore so I don't see or respond to his totally truthful posts. Free speech matters on Pie & Bovril. I assume that he's not mentioned anything about Labour retaining the two-child benefit cap, despite some describing it as "obscene & inhumane" (Angela Rayner) or "cruel & wrong" (Anas Sarwar) Here's a link to some other Labour views. What we now have is a supposedly socialist UK government spending parliamentary time to reintroduce EU safety & metrology standards (as the UKCA scheme has been roundly ignored by business) because they consider this more important than helping starving kids. Why does anyone want to remain part of this UK shitshow?
I Clavdivs
Before the GE election Anas Sarwar was talking big about "putting pressure" on Sir Keir,if Labour were elected ,to drop the Tories two child Cap on benefits.Since the election we've heard heehaw from Anas on thus subject but lots from new Viceroy Murray saying naw...just naw . Anyone surprised ? .

Well the early days of the US was hardly noted for tolerance and progressiveness itself, and despite the supposed "freedoms" enshrined in the constitution, it's always been a case of "if you aren't white and Christian, go f**k yourself" in practice.

scottsdad
When the tories were in power, we had 2 threads. The Tory Lies and Corruption thread, and the PM specific thread about them in government. Then, when Labour came in, we had the same. The What is the Point of Labour thread and Have A Beer with Sir Kier: Laeburr in Government threads. All gone to shit now. Merged, given an awful title and now tumbleweed here. Labour got to the mods clearly to suppress debate.
