Aye, because they only passed a budget for Scotland this week with the backing of the Greens and Lib Dems. There is a very obvious point that Labour will NEVER sign up to any SNP proposals but will on occasion sign up to TORY proposals. So, his definition of fighting for the Scottish people is somewhat coloured. In short, it's bollocks, he's a cock and his party is starting a purge of people who are soft on Indy. That'll work out well for them.

Even the studiously neutral Sienna Rodgers is turning on Keir. What a disaster that man is.

No idea who she is but her attack there seems unfair and self absorbed.  Starmer is a squeaky disappointment though.  No doubt.

Didn't Blair McDougall expect Henry McLeish to endorse Yes at one point?  Seem to remember something like that a couple of months before the vote but in the end he never did.

McLeish was fairly apathetic about the whole thing and any comment positivity on anything no relatd, he kept on giving a very soft no vibe and tearing into Westminster. McDougall just gave some ridiculously unsubtle hints that he heard McLeish was in support of 'Yes' so the press again questioned him on it and he reiterated his position of being opposed to independence. This then solidified him into the no campaign publicly and printed the headlines he wanted which helped in a pretty weak news cycle.

She's the editor for Labour List and has spent the last year pretty much just reporting directly on Labour news. If even she's attacking Kier's messaging then he's not doing well.

Just watched Angela Rayner on Breakfast show refusing to answer the question. She, rightly, criticised the Tory offer of 1% to Nurses but repeatedly waffled and refused to answer when asked what Labour would offer but instead kept up her rant about the Tory Offer.

That's because Labours proposal is something equally pathetic like 2.1%.

Basically, it's exactly what the Tory voters in the focus groups say it should be and not a penny more.

It's even more dumb because you can expect the Tories to cave on this with a higher amount than Labour offered and once again the Tories win the day. Cons 43% (+5)

Except Labour don't have a proposal - the 2.1% is what the Tories had already promised and budgeted for. Labour have said that is the minimum they should get, and a starting point for negotiation - which I think is fair.
Did you expect Rayner to deliver an entire budget on the hoof? Her party would have vastly different spending priorities to the Tories, so spending on Public Sector wages could be paid for by cutting back on nonsense like HS2, for example. Oh, sorry, that would be the Labour party before she helped stab Corbyn in the back - you know, the one that offered a genuine alternative to the cűnts in power.

It’s actually quite amusing to watch SLAB implode from the party that dominated Scotland for decades. They’ve continually doubled down on “Union at all costs” when unlike the Tories their membership are split on independence. Every election they get destroyed as the hardcore Unionists vote goes to the Tories while they keep pushing their own Yes voters or open to Yes voters away. They honestly seem to believe that if they help block IndyRef2 everyone will just forget about independence and everything will go back to how it was with Labour ruling Scotland. Membership around 16,000 they probably used to get that in Glasgow alone. With Sarwar and Starmer now calling the shots while wrapped in Union Jacks I just can’t see anyway they’ll ever recover. They’re so out of touch it’s shocking.

Lathe of Heaven, bro

Seriously though, it shows how pointless Kieth is.

He becomes leader on the basis of perceived electability and competence. He then shows a complete absence of competence or tactical nous on literally every issue the Tories are unpopular over, being outflanked by them in blatantly obvious ways time and time again. This rolling strategic disaster has them polling 10 points behind the Tories, removing any notion of electability.

If the purpose of a leader with no principles who'll do policy by focus group was that this is how to win again, then what reason is there to persist with him when you're losing badly?

It's fine it can be Corbyn and the left's fault until 2024 or whenever when they finally get rid and try and appoint someone even worse.

Just going back a couple of pages, it's disgraceful that anybody holding a reasonable view on an independence referendum should be seen as them secretly supporting independence itself, but that seems to be where we are. Almost to a man, no to independence means no to further consultations with the electorate on the matter.
