Billy Jean King
8 hours ago, Frank Quitely said: I think we are all agreed that any upsurge in the Labour vote in Scotland will have very little to do with enthusiasm for their ever-shifting policy programme, and much more to do with disillusionment with the SNP. There is a time and place for a "protest" vote but anyone voting for Starmers Labour in a GE will thoroughly deserve all they get, pretty much a continuation of current Tory policy and direction. Why would they do that exactly, might as well just vote for the full fat version.

Wee-Bey
'The change Britain and Scotland needs' is of course just a bunch of unpleasant middle management dorks painting over everything blue with red and telling you 'this is good actually'.

SandyCromarty
Family member attended a meeting in Bournemouth recently with Gove and Angela Rayner, Gove was his usual bland man but Rayner came across as right wing and arrogant, this was a cross party UK councils discussion and not a public meeting.

HTG
Is it just me that thinks this attempt to look different from the Tories feels absolutely fucking crass in its tone?
BFTD
1 hour ago, HTG said: Is it just me that thinks this attempt to look different from the Tories feels absolutely fucking crass in its tone? Yes, but it's also standard practice for opposition who think they've a chance of gaining power. What's amusing - in a deeply tragic manner - is Starmer's weird tactic of demanding the government do something, anything, just so he can blindly support it. He's been doing it for a while now, and it doesn't feel like opposition so much as the mentality of a rabid music fan who loves an artist's work, but wishes they'd hurry up and release more so they can just buy it already. Any fan of popular beat combo The Conservatives would surely want Labour to remain in their place, harrying out more Tory hits like Hostile Environment and Upward Redistribution rather than hitting the studio themselves, while anyone who isn't keen on depressing dirges ought to be asking why it matters which set of faces are on Top of the Pops if they're playing the same tunes.
SandyCromarty
Just now, HTG said: Is it just me that thinks this attempt to look different from the Tories feels absolutely fucking crass in its tone? Labour thought nothing of holding hands with the tories on Brexit and the Scottish Independence referendum, Scots must not forget that. Starmer is a hollow middle class tory who cares not a jot for the rights of the working people.

Yes, but "crass" is an improvement on the usual "despicable".
StellarHibee
They "demand change" to make themselves appear like a real opposition. But when opportunity for change arrives, they sit on their hands and abstain in order to protect the status quo.

He’s a bottom feeder and he’s going to be PM within the next 16 months.
