Emily 'Victoria Wood Only Not Funny or Talented' Thornberry also quoted in that curious article.

What a non-issue to wade into.

Why they put Thornberry, a woman who lost a job in the shadow cabinet for ripping the pish out of a flag shagger, up to criticise Nike is one of the daftest pieces of media management I've seen. It's plainly obvious they don't give a shit what colour the fucking flag is on a football kit.

Which ones, the Colin Fox ones?

I just saw a fleg - maybe someone just had one kicking about from 2003 and brought it along.

Could've been Socialist Party Scotland a rather small Trotskyist party.

It was this flag.

Are the left...sorry, "THE FAR LEFT LUNATICS"...still doing the Life of Brian thing? Is there a Party of Socialists in Scotland consisting of a bloke who didn't like the Nestle biscuits at one of the SSP meetings, and thought the SPS were fascists for refusing to commit to execute the royals on the day after taking power?

If the England vs France game had been 20 years earlier there’d definitely have been a godawful BBC Scotland sketch show doing a gag with Harry Kane’s penalty landing and knocking Rosie Kane out of a tree in Pollok Park.

It's alright, you can name Only an Excuse?

It's finished now; it can't hurt us anymore.

The Colin Fox ones used to hold regular largely-ignored demos in Princes Street, outside Register House. Dunno if they still do.

Always used to give them a wee toot of the horn when we passed in the bin lorry.

They’re still there, at least once a week. Usually collecting signatures on one petition or another.

Starmer and Angela Rayner praise Boris Johnson.

Standard.  Given they're basically the same party now.

They were there on Saturday just gone. Flags tied to the barriers on both sides of the street, loudhailers, the usual.

But they now praise him.

I don't think you have read what they said.

Quote

The policy was killed at birth by the then chancellor, Rishi Sunak, who refused to back it; the chaos and corruption of the Tory government under Johnson, and a failure to give regions the levers to make it happen.

Levelling up or equivalent investment and infrastructure building away from the SE has been a political aim (and handy lie to tell) for decades, long preceding Johnson. The fact they were not fulsome in their praise doesn't change that they referenced it as being a result of his analysis rather than something he just nicked and never intended to do.

If they want Johnson fans who feel he was betrayed to vote for them it's not a daft thing to say. And they do.

Rishi was the one caught bragging about taking money away from areas in the northern wastelands to pay for village green improvements in the Home Counties, was he not?

You have to be really careful about saying the quiet bit out loud in politics. Just ask Mitt Romney.

They are there every week.

I am not necessarily a fan, but you have to admire their endurance in the face of indifference.
