Them being in the final last time out was enough anxiety for me, thank you very much. And then when they went 1-0 up...havn't I suffered enough...

Think I'll settle for the game on now and France v Spain and call the tournament finished at that.

Read every thread involving England on P&B over the past 4 international tournaments and this is all you will read.

Play the long game.

I am. That's why I've long felt they must win one soon.

They've been so consistently poor and fortunate in this tournament that it just feels inevitable that this will be the one.

That's Turkey ahead now.  This really could be some route to the final for them.

For any of the English lads here, is this actually that enjoyable for you?

Surely it's clear as day that you ultimately won't win the tournament playing like this?

It is frustrating and baffling.  The current enjoyment is seeing players I like do ok and/or avoid criticism.

Meh, they've been fortunate but they're not even the worst side in the semi finals. At least they've scored 5 goals. France are in the semis without a goal from open play in the tournament! Fully expect them to make the final.

I mean France have played Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands and Austria - so at least three teams better than England have faced in the entire competition so far.

Iceland 2024 beat them couple of weeks ago.

In a completely irrelevant friendly match. But aye you just hold on to that comfort blanket as they parade from one spawny result to another in an actual major tournament.

France have been tedious beyond belief but have quite clearly played at a higher and more competent overall level of performance than England. They didn't have a group comprised entirely of dogshit outfits and weren't 60 seconds from being eliminated by a minnow.

The issues are that in a 90 minute one-off match such a difference doesn't count for much; and the gulf isn't as large as it could be because Deschamps is almost as fraudulent a manager as Sir Waistcoat.

Colombia > Sweden > Croatia

Germany > Ukraine > Denmark

Senegal > France

Slovakia > Switzerland > Turkey?

Has there ever been a knockout run like it in history? Southgate owes his reputation to it.

That's even excluding all the Panama-Slovenia level dross they contrived to draw in every group too.

Yip, the only impressive result in there is Germany.  Even then, they got to play them at home.

It's not even just the easy run, Harry Kane joining a team that wins everything and managing to win nothing also has a Hibs and Scottish Cup inevitably about it.

It was also an absolutely terrible Germany team, that stank the Nations League out so badly they had to change the format to stop them getting relegated to a diddy tier.

What was the actual recorded time difference between penalty 1 and penalty 2 of the shoot-out, and why was that c**t's c**t Pickford not booked for wasting time accordingly?

Those antics in no way excuse the abject penalty strike by the Nazi gold smuggler, but is another example on top of Bellingham's 'celebration' (v Demiral's) that rules simply are not being applied consistently or equally in this competition.

Just as well they've got Brazil 1970 in the semi final, to stop them spawning their way to a tournament victory over a 90 minute final then.

Oh wait it's another second rate outfit, who will in all likelihood lose a few players to injuries/suspensions before that game anyway.

It is the depth of England's squad that makes their path to the final ludicrous.

Anger management. Go on. Give it a try.
