They didn't have a group comprised entirely of dogshit outfits and weren't 60 seconds from being eliminated by a minnow. The issues are that in a 90 minute one-off match such a difference doesn't count for much; and the gulf isn't as large as it could be because Deschamps is almost as fraudulent a manager as Sir Waistcoat.
