Every manager even those who have done great things elsewhere could go either way. None of us know how it will go at Rovers. If it’s Healy then shows that the board have probably done their research, looked around and not just gone for the predictable

Did a quick Google on Mr Healy and numerous news outlets mentioning Rovers approaching Linfield or Healy but only one mentions that he's agreed terms. That's Matt Elder at the Scotsman. Make of it what you will folks.😉 If it comes to pass it's costing money as his contract runs out in 2025. I assume at the end of the season in June/July.

Full article.

Raith Rovers want Linfield boss David Healy to take over as their new manager and have approached the Blues to speak to Northern Ireland’s record goalscorer.

The Belfast Telegraph understands that the Scottish Championship side are confident that a deal can be sealed to take Healy from Windsor Park to Stark’s Park.

Healy’s current deal with the Blues is up at the end of this season so some form of compensation would have to be agreed with the Linfield hierarchy to finalise the move but Raith want the 45-year-old and are keen to make it happen.

The Killyleagh man took over as manager of Linfield in October 2015 and has been a huge success at his boyhood club winning five league titles, two Irish Cups, three League Cups and one County Antrim Shield while on two occasions he has almost taken them into the group stages of European competition. In the past Healy has spoken about his desire to have a shot at management across the water and this may be his chance with Raith ambitious to win promotion to the Premiership.

Healy is well known in Scotland from his time as a striker with Rangers where he won the title. Linfield, who have won their first three league matches of the season and top the table, face Loughgall at Windsor Park on Saturday. At this point Healy is expected to be in charge. It is understood that Linfield will discuss the matter internally after the game. Raith have been on the look out for a new boss since Ian Murray was sacked earlier this month with John Potter and Colin Cameron placed in charge on an interim basis.

I'd really struggled to notice much about Healy until I came across this. It provides a decent breakdown of the style of play they've used and what we might expect. It's nothing groundbreaking, but still plenty of positives to take from it.

You'd have to imagine it's much of a muchness between Northern Irish top level football and the second tier in Scotland. We'll probably underestimate the standard over there, and they'll probably look at us and think they're better. Northern Ireland feels a bit like a market which Scottish football is keen to tap into in the post-Brexit world we live in now. It's a bit like Spain in the early 00s where you saw an influx through Steve Archibald. It's a very difficult league to dissect when there's very little info at face value, and the details which are there come from people posting on Follow Follow.

As mentioned by @R.R.FC it's very hard to tell how well he has done. I've been terrified we'd appoint a substandard candidate like Liam Fox who is a great coach but doesn't seem to have any tactic awareness. You'll always get a degree of scepticism over the titles he's won given the league he's been in, but at the same time it's still better than a 'specialist in failure'.

Don't you mean,

"It's f**king weird.

Thank you"

But yes, most twitter users are weird, or fascists or both. The Rovers ones primarily fall into the weird category.

Hopefully his contract is written such as, if he is shite, we can punt him at minimum financial penalty, his bonus would come on promotion only.

I can assure you there is a large proportion of the Linfield support who won't miss David Healy. As is the case with any club any support.  I don't want to denigrate Healy, (I seen his goals and even forgave him for his rangers time) but you have made such a pigs arse of this that you are scrabbling about looking for anyone who might measure up. Just ring Stephen and be done with it.
