We've got players like Adeniran, Iacovitti, Smyth and Idowu who hardly kicked a ball last season and you can see they're still short of match fitness. O'Hara being injured is a huge miss for us, as are Kiltie and McMenamin. I'd have Adeniran in for CBM. However, I'd be looking for Adeniran to be playing in the Brann game, as it was obvious when he came on last week what a quality player he is. Idowu will probably start, given his goal threat. In defence possibly Iacovitti and Tanser will come in for Taylor and Brown. We've got options up top, but unfortunately, bar Olusanya, none of them look particularly dangerous in front of goal. Scott has had three assists in his last two games, so we might see him in from the start. All pure speculation of course and probably completely incorrect. As I mentioned earlier, we'll need to play way better than we did in midweek to get anything today. I’ll have a go at picking the Saints X1: Balcombe. Fraser Gogic Iocavitti. Rooney Adeniran Boyd-Munce Tanser. Idowu. Olusanya Scott

Olusanya Scott That sort of ties in with my thinking. So probably completely wrong. However, Robinson talks a lot about players getting tired and having confidence in every member of his squad, which usually results in a couple of surprising selections.

Reading between the lines he won’t be in the 20. Not match fit & has been injured. At best he might make the bench v Queens Park. We’ll essentially have about 6 players unavailable (I’m including Miovski who I can’t see starting, & Duk who’s AWOL) And we need another 2-3 in too as the squad is very thin.

zildjian
I am actually a bit surprised by Olusanya and Scott starting. Not from a point of view that they dont deserve to, but thought that he would keep one as an impact sub.

James Scott certainly deserves a start and it means we've got plenty of pace with him and Olusanya. (Scott's deceptively quick.)

Two forwards with pace might be an issue for Rubezic & Molloy, who aren’t the quickest, especially if we press & leave gaps in behind.
pozbaird
Even before kick off, commentary on Radio Scotland saying they’re happy we’re in our blue strip, as the numbers on our home shirts can be ‘difficult to read’. No more difficult than black numbers on a green and white hooped shirt, but you’ll know who they are… do your job, you utter kunt. Learn who a top flight side’s players are.
