The decision’s been made , so let’s see what happens .

Lots of negativity on here by Hearts supporters (and others, just for the sake of it ).

Hopefully breaking the mould of not appointing one of the Scottish managers whose names were being put forward will work as imo , none of them would’ve taken us forward.

Its in our DNA , not to like, or be suspicious of change , but all we can do is give the guy a chance .

If he doesn’t get 5 wins in his first 5 games in charge , he can f**k off though !

Our own, Levein (Leicester) and Neilson (MK Dons) were shit down south.

Others, McInnes (Bristol City) and Robinson (Morecambe) were shit down south.

They all did okay up here.

Hibs have had a number of managers who were decent enough down South and a shitshow up here.

Then there's Derek Adams' latest stint up here.

Comparing apples with oranges.

“Mcinnes arrived at Ashton Gate from St Johnstone in October 2011 with the club languishing at the bottom of the Championship with just one win from their opening 12 fixtures.

However, following an eight-match unbeaten run at the end of the campaign McInnes guided Bristol City to safety with a game to spare.”

Mcinnes did well in his first year in Bristol as outlined. Then was sacked in the following year. To be honest if Critchley fails, you might be looking for him to repeat the above for you.

Will hearts fans be happy enough if he gets them away from the bottom and they end around 7th or 8th by the end of the season, or do they still expect top 6?

Of course we still expect top 6.

We're 6 points behind St Mirren with 25 games till the split.   If we don't make the top half we'll be looking for another manager.   I'd also say we will 100% still be looking for top 4

What makes you so certain that things will get so much better?

Do you know who I really feel sorry for in all this?

Yogi.

Once more scandalously overlooked for a job.

Be a great assistant coach IMO

Because they can't get any worse than bottom of the league.

Nothing is certain. But you asked if we’d be happy with 7th.

Of course not. From here we can still make Europe. Why would we be happy with the bottom six?

Obviously you have to take hearts start to the season into account. In normal circumstances I’m sure hearts fans wouldn’t be happy with 7th but hearts look absolutely shite so far this season so surely staying away from bother is the main aim first and foremost?

No. Staying up shouldn’t really be a question. We’ve not played ten games yet.

If we’re in the same place after 18-19 games, then it’s a concern.

Not sure what answer you expect here. We’re two or three results from the top six with a squad that made third last season. It would be wild to say we’d take 7th.
