Ayr v Morton 28/09

I don't know you can make such a conclusion. There's nothing there that obviously clarifies whether it's 1 touch or not.

What I'll say is that looks from his body shape he's trying to hit it to Mullen's right, and it ends up going to his left. Difficult to envisage how that happens without a double kick.

And why would all the Morton players, especially Mullen who had the best view in the ground, go and immediately complain about it to the ref?

That video disproves nothing. The second touch was after it left his right foot, kicking it onto his left which had slipped. You can't see it clearly in that video because a perfectly side on angle can't show the ball changing direction from the touch of the left foot, which it did, moving to Henderson's right when he'd initially kicked it to his left. You're effectively watching a 2D clip with the ball still moving towards the goal, so it looks like the trajectory is unchanged and just passed by the foot when it changed direction as a result of hitting it.

Unusual to not have highlights up on the Sunday, when an angle from behind it will be conclusive one way or the other. Would quite like to move on and focus on the obvious glaring weaknesses in the team which need fixed and were evident at 1-0 down rather than dwelling on one refereeing decision when we'll inevitably get a complete shanner of a decision deciding a game in our favour at some point this season as well, whereas our complete inability to compete in games once we're behind will not be so easily balanced out, but as long as people are unable to accept the idea they might have got away with one and count their blessings here we are.

Would be interesting to hear how Ayr fans think you can hit the ball with your right instep towards towards the left and have it go in the bottom right corner. How does that work?

Jay F K thread for this pish please.

Except when the club regularly does not post highlights until a Monday or sometimes even Tuesday, get your tin foil hat off and stop believing in conspiracy theory's like the world is flat and Jay Henderson hit the ball twice becuase the SPFL (or what ever the f**k it's called this week) need the black and white pound to survive

Utter waffle. Every word.

That video looks as if Henderson's left foot slips and as his right foot connects with the ball it might, and I stress might, have also touched his left foot in passing, but frankly you can't be sure and I wouldn't blame the ref for not giving a free kick for a double touch that even he probably couldn't detect.  Maybe if there were better quality videos we could tell what actually happened.

Many years ago, a friend of mine used to take penalties so that they deliberately hit his non-kicking foot and the ball changed direction.  Was quite effective.  Even better if playing with a tennis ball.  I think there was a rule change quite a few years ago that specifically made a double touch from a penalty or free kick a foul.  IIRC it followed an incident when someone did a deliberate double touch in a game in England but no idea which teams or player was involved.

Here's an example of a double touch, bit clearer than Saturday's incident.
