Agree, team selection baffling again, no width and 3 no 10s on the park.No Lafferty and Gary McCann not getting a sniff.

Murdie tried to get rid of Gary in his last season at Pollok, so surprised 3 years later Gary remained with you over the summer.

As for surprising selections and posted earlier, subs left too late, that’s a bit of a hallmark.
There will be lots of managers sniffing around the JB job just waiting for the moment they make another change. That’s a lot of pressure on Murdie that I doubt he can handle.

Worst performance this season for Burgh. Not a clue what we were trying to do today.

Give me 11 guys out on the pitch battling for 90 minutes for one another over maybe the Burgh 4 or 5 who do so.  The rest at your club are mercenaries alongside your newly found fans who will return their red and white shiney scarves to the catalogue in due course under a refunded never been worn 😁

Same old pish about money, playing for the jersey as well. You deserved the win and agree our bench was silent.

The evidence was clear to see today,  75 % of the players would not be there if there was no cash.   For a team with so many “good” players not one of them showed up today, whether that’s down to management or the players just going through the motions remains to be seen.

Then why only mention "poor burgh display" that makes it look like beith never played well

Because I was just posting very quickly and from a Burgh perspective, no real reason and I’ve no idea why you’re pushing this. None of the Beith fans on here are.

Don’t know what more you want me to say other than Beith had the Burgh well sussed.

Not taking anything away from Beith but it had to pointed out how poor the Burgh were. It’s not as if Beith had to be playing brilliant football, they just needed to be organised and have a game plan to win.

So much so that they were content to let Burgh have most of the ball in the second half because they knew Burgh would do nothing with it.

They’ll be what Johnstone Burgh will always be. Periods of riding high, followed by years in mediocrity, then in the doldrums. Rinse and Repeat.

But what is different about the Burgh now than in the past is that the club now own the ground, there is security of tenure and a lot of the core problems around the pitch and clubhouse have been fixed. So I don’t think they’ll go as far down as the Burgh have been, even as recently as 5 years ago.

I don’t know what Darvel had in place behind the scenes other than that they had a benefactor or what they were like before that, but the Burgh were in a sound financial footing, sustainable and able to pay players the two seasons before the big money came in.

Also, unlike before, Burgh have a large volunteer structure and every age group playing under one banner.

Having said that, they’ve still done a lot in terms of signings, wages, how they’ve went about “building” (sic) a First team that  I have been  and remain critical of.

Then say this straight away instead of now. Your original comment never gave credit to beith, you only do so after somebody said give them credit.
