Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

been watching ITV hub, and theres mair adverts than on live tv, ffs, 5 mins prog followd by 3mins ads, f$£k I totally hate ALL ads. Rant over!
Don't watch anything on the Channel 5 app. The amount of times there seems to be glitch where they show adverts twice is unreal. I actually pay All4 £3.99 a month just to get rid of the majority of their adverts. Been far better viewing since doing so.

Totally agree. Went to watch something on STV player last night and there was 4 ads before the program including one with Susan Calman which got me raging. When i got past them I moved the slider to see how many adverts they were showing in the middle. It was 8 so I just sacked watching the program

Another Go Fund Me page on the go down here, for a woman's funeral this time. The woman was run over and it's being treated as murder apparently which is of course horrendous. But she looks well in to her 50's. How can you not have any kind of savings by that stage? Another example of a GFM page where if the person had taken insurance like everyone else they wouldn't be in this situation. I expect plenty of mugs will contribute though and of course inform the family publicly for some well earned Likes.

I'm 38 and my MH condition mesns I've cant get life insurance.

There's thousands of folk in the UK in their 50s and older without a penny to their name.

And thousands more every day.

The issue with people having zero savings or life insurance is only going to get worse as the current cohort ages.

..it's also going to get worse as the last working class people who have managed to put something by (often thanks to "right to buy") have their savings beasted by four-figure weekly "care" home bills.

Oh, and as RH33 alluded to, the downright refusal of Insurance companies to entertain any policy with a risk of having to pay out on.

Think is my physical health is utterly fine, bit overweight but nothing else. Life insurance policys never pay out on suicide anyway so it's annoying.

Yeah. Was just going to say this. Some people can't get life insurance due to pre-existing conditions. I took out a life insurance and critical illness policy 5 months before I was diagnosed with cancer. Thank f**k.

Aviva do, as long as you have been on cover a year. Not that I am encouraging anyone to end their life.

Costs rising on pretty much everything whilst wages either stagnate or increase at a fraction of inflation is a huge issue.

Things aren't going to magically get cheaper. Costs will continue to rise and rise and rise, and the gap between that and an increase in wages will just keep getting bigger. Its a huge issue that will become worse and worse over time. The future is really bleak for so many.

I work in debt advice and at least half the people I've spoke with in the last month were over 50.

Couldn’t be arsed cooking so ordered Spaghetti Vongele from my local Italian. Had it plenty of times and always been great. Tonight there’s no chilli in it, and it’s grainy as f**k. Assume they haven’t washed the clams and it’s grit. Bland and pretty inedible.

Fair enough. I prefer staying in bed scranning a fry up and watching football all day.

Can't believe no one called this out, eating a fry up in bed is OFTW behaviour.

Although it's Saturday, impersonating a lollypop man sounds like it has potential for being quite fun.

Fucking hell I'm a whole hour into thinking it's Sunday I don't know if I can go back now.

I thought lollipop men only did the school runs?

Wouldn't worry about it, once the climate refugees properly start moving you'll need to fight for food, water and shelter.

Short term join your Union ask for a pay rise and better conditions.
