Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Dinno where to put this, but Phil Gallie died. He was a Tory MP for Ayr and then turned up as an MSP. I liked Phil, he was a really decent guy and the 92 election when we scraped him in by a bawhair was one of the best election campaigns ever. It was brilliant fun. I was one of the folk that was able to select him for the Ayr constituency as I was an office bearer at the time. His selection caused a bit of a split in the local party as they had been used to gentleman George Younger and Phil was absolutely NOTHING like that

Got plenty of tales about him, but he was a thoroughly decent guy and he did his level best for the folk of the town regardless of their politics. He lost his wife a few years back and he was never the same after that and just went into his shell.

I liked Phil :(

And he couldn't say constituency properly. We used to rip the pish out of him for it. :(

The 'Websurf' facility that displays exam results has always been mocked for its inherent pishness, yesterday when all the exam results were published it was too 'busy' to deal with the traffic and crashed within hours. This morning the crash appears to have been sorted, but the number of students logging on at 8:15 is negligible at best (there's like 6 people here and most don't have computers) how the f**k can you still be 'busy'?

It wasn't always very well thought out at times either. He was a bit too much of a loose cannon for the bulk of his Tory colleagues as well. Never the sharpest political operator around but he was a really good constituency MP and that is in stark contrast to the one we are lumbered with now.

I knew the guy quite well at one point so I feel quite sad about this. A working class Tory, who'd have thought it? :P

Knew Phil very well,

was sitting in his living room playing cards on Saturday night.

I am still in shock.

Phil was one of the hardest working guys going,

and even if you disagreed with his politics he would help anyone that went to him

and that is why he was so liked in Ayr - he was constantly doing his best for all his constituents whether you had voted for him or not.

A few more politicians like him would be an improvement on the current crop.

Phil Gallie reminds me of Alick Buchanan-Smith, another Tory, who died in the early 1990s. Despite the cringeworthy distrust of anything to do with the word 'Tory' he was well respected in our local area (Kincardine and Deeside) due to the fact that his main interest was the welfare of the people he represented. He had managed to gain the trust of people who voted for other parties. Sadly, these types of politicians are (pardon the pun) a dying breed replaced by self-serving party lackeys.

Phil was a normal bloke. He had been out in the big bad world and actually worked for a living in it. I think he understood better than a lot of them nowadays what it's actually like for a young guy trying to bring up a family on a wage. Very few of our current mob of politicians have had any sort of background other than politics. And frankly, it shows. And I'm not just talking about Tories here either, I'm talking about the whole fucking lot of them. They come out of school, straight into uni then Oxbridge and then become some politicians flunky until they lick enough arse to get a gig themselves.

But you are quite right, he was a good MP for his area even if he did come out with some rubbish at times  He was entirely different to George Younger who was a very capable man and was Secretary of State for Scotland and then Defence Secretary. Phil was never in that league but he didnt try to be, he just dealt with his constituents problems and did his best for the place. And we currently have Sandra Osborne who is just another Labour zombie in a procession of them. In fact even though Phil is dead I bet he is still more active in his constituency that that useless socialist bitch is.

For those that know me, I am a lazy b*****d. I do no excersize whatsoever. Today, I done "attack fit" in PE. None of the excersizes were too strenuous and I managed to do most of them with relative ease. That was at 9am, now I'm at 12 past 7 at night and my legs are killing me. I can barely sit down. I've been holding in a shite since 4pm is I can't bare trying to do it with my legs in such agony.

Tomorrow will be much worse. <_<

TBF you don't appear to expend much energy in the English Class either. ;)

Folk who come into supermarkets, then shout and bawl at the staff about how prices have went up on the products.

Or old people who moan that after their wee shouting event, they get no respect back in return. Of course I'm not going to serve you if you're going off the handle at me because the bakery rolls have went up 10p a piece. They're still £1 for 4, technically you're saving more.

Old people who think the world is out to wrong them can get fucked.
